I also have sputniks, but i leave them open (when i,m there) and let the young birds come and go as they see fit. They wont go far. I feed mine at night so when they are about to come in its to the tin, always to the tin when feeding. I sometimes dont feed them the night before i,m due to let them out, which keeps them keen. So when the tins shaken the have something to come in for. alex.
Under the present climate should he have written an obituary for the great Dale Newcome? Yes he is entitled to do so, but just considering the present climate, was it neccessary?
I totally agree, for a relativley new comer to the sport, as myself, this subject isnt half leaving a bad taste in the current members mouths. The person in question is still pulling everyones chain and winding us up, just look at the bhw. I was lead to believe had resigned from the snfc, and if so how is he allowed to put a report into the bhw under PRO. Stroll on 2009 season for the better of the sport, lets get it sorted.
Me and wifey are staying at The Rosebank Villa Hotel, just at the back of the winter gardens. Been there for the last 2 years, great place run by great people.
trying my 36 yearlings unraced as young birds, on the round a bout. bit of an imbalance, as i have 14 cocks rest hens.
25-30 young birds, hopefully.

In the end Gareth, its got to help by sharing the cost. Dont know the best way to do it. Fife have always opted for a trailer as having a lorry brings its own costs ie tax mot insurance ect. But the size of trailer we have is costing us a fair bit to run at the moment. I would like to see the framing to be removeable, so that we can just store that. Then hire a flat bed lorry for the season, putting the framing onto that. Once finished return the lorry, so that cuts the costs down. It was just an idea, never realy looked into the hiring side
Our Fife Federation doubled up with the SNFC last year to cut down on costs, some liked it others didnt. I like the idea of the SNFC buying a new state of art transporter and hiring it out to a federation, thus generating money when not in use at nationals. Fife federations transporter is always a sore topic, and it would be interesting to see how the hiring could help the SNFC or Fife (or whatever fed would hire)
