    OLD FIRM GAME

    ahem ;D ;D did say things come three's ;D
  2. If they are doing it in England, i,d imagine it will be world wide, and we haven't heard of that here in Scotland. :-/
  3. ;D ;D i,ve got enough to last me 5 years, i,ll sell you some ;D ;D ;D
  4. I thought when you ordered them you had to pay £5 for insurance against any losses or damages when in transit. There was no additions to each ring :-/
  5. When i got our clubs they were £1.10 from Unikon and £1.10 from SHU, so cant understand a 20p increase in the first place, and hope the shu aren't adding anything onto them, we all pay enough :-/
  6. There shouldn't be a price difference between Unikon and the SHU. So clarification needs to be had, as to who and why the rings have went up. You would have thought that the amount of people using the systems, should be rewarded for their support and not screwed to the wall to gain profits. And they needn't come out with the "its because of the current climate" excuse. 20p per ring increase, jesus christ, that's one huge profit heading towards someone. I think someone has forgotten who actually helps them have a business in the first place :-/
  7. I,m not sure that its any disease, but am open minded. The problem as reported, is the confinement of the adults, causing stress. Lesson learned. The adults are settling down now that they are free to roam the loft
  8. Just a wee update on things here. 12 pairs went down within 5 days of each other, great so far. 3 pairs were empty. 1 pair was filled but the pair didnt incubate them fully. 2 pair lifted 1 pair had one hatch and the other didnt hatch 2 pair have 2 young in the nest. 1 pair kicked the 2 young out the nest, killing them. 2 pair kicked 1 out the nest. and now i,ve just got rid of a realy small young bird, not strong enough. So now i have 6 young birds out a possible 24 = 25% success rate, bloody nightmare. I,ve now opened the boxes, that have young birds in them, giving the parents their freedom (which i think has caused the problem). When the others lay for the second time, i,ll open their boxes up as well. I just hope that i,m in control of my bad breeding so far. Time will tell. cheers, alex. :-/
  9. Honey in the water, then fresh water the next day. its put in first thing in the morning to stabilise in temperature. I always store my water in bottles from the night before, so that its not fresh from the tap, just like when they are on the transporter.
  10. We are not that far away, just have to have some more belief, from start to finish :-/

  19. Aye, this is a big learning curve, a sare one at that :-/
  20. Well thank the lord, no more dead young today. Came home expecting the worst, but all seems to be well. I,ve opened one box that has a young bird in the nest, and will start to open them one at a time till they are all open. Fingers crossed all goes to plan, time will tell. Thank you all for your thoughts and theories, its been really interesting, and will bear in mind all these ideas for the future. I, ve not used the black nest felts, i only use the coconut ones. I,m putting straw in the nests for the second round, and will be giving them their liberty. Thanks again, alex.
  21. I was quite worried at how quick mine went down, i was expecting a full house of clear eggs, but wasnt to be thankfully. I,ve still got 11 out of a possible 24 so not a total disaster, still plenty o time to give them a second chance though.
  22. tobacco stalks and nest felts
