  3. Have you tried the unikon site mucker. www.pigeon-ets.com?
  4. Congratulations John Duthie, brilliant, all the best alex wight lochgelly.
  5. We have a huge problem here in Fife, as we need to do around about 80 miles for a 20 mile training toss. So i,m in the same thinking as yourself, pick the line of flight and a break point, and train them from there. We also have the firth of fourth in our way and when the young guns first encounter it, they take ages sometimes hours just flying back and forth until they find the confidence to cross over. Its about 7 miles wide, so its a big ask first time for them. They soon get used to it though. All the best, it,ll be interesting to find out how they go.
  6. davie baldies bird, all sorted out now. well done big jock davies chuffed to get the chance to get another one back
  7. I,m in the same boat as yourself, but education is what they must have for a good year as yearling in my opinion. So..... i, at the least will give them 2 races which takes them out to 78 miles, and gives them a taste of what will be expected off them the following year as yearlings. Then there is plan z, if i get heavy loses during training i will be forced to miss the season out. Its all about what targets you have set yourself, and being left with none to race, is not one of mine. So i will be taking it one day at a time, with one eye on next year.
  8. Well folks i now join the growing number of fanciers to be hit by bops for 2010. I let my young guns out at 6.00.00am and by 6.00.10am i saw the strike happen. However my pigeon either got away and tried to get home, or numb nuts dropped him, as an ex fancier picked my pigeon up in a car park, dead. I,ve had a good look at the damage and its done and even if he got back home he would have never survived. was 29 now 28. I,m not even going to bother getting wound up about them, because we all know where we stand with regards to these murdering b******s, and the supporters of them ie rspb. Just hope i dont get many more hits or my young bird season will be over before its even begun.
  9. Thank you, i,ll give them a call tomorrow. We cant use anything that can identify the pigeon to its owner at nationals (shu rule). We even have to scrub the number off the pigeon prior to going to a national race. A bit hypocritical if you ask me. Thanks again.
  10. I,ve just been looking on boody ridewood, £22.50. I,m sure i got my last one for about £12, just cant find my other one, turned the hoose upside doon lol. The lidl one used to leak so i binned it lol. Thanks anyway.
  11. I need to replace my wing stamp, where is the best place to get one? I want to get a self inking one. thanks in advance.
  12. I just want to say a huge thank you to Stuart Maskame (blue tooner) for his hospitality today. My day started at 4.15am when i left Lochgelly to take a trip up to the home of Stuart and a certain Maverick. I travelled on my motorbike and in just over 2 hours i was greeted by Stuart and Chris Donaldson. After a chat the fry up was under way courtesy of Stuart, and was well polished off. The anticipation of national birds clocking in was at times overwhelming. A certain Maverick was on a mission to win a silver award having been timed in on 2 previous over the water nationals. The day was wearing on and my host decided to take a break from the loft to go and get fags. Yes folks you guessed it........ our star of the day timed in 30 seconds after we left. We missed Maverick coming home, but and a big but, to see him in the loft on our return was absolutely brilliant. I was also able to see some of stuarts pigeons arrive from the fed race from consett. At 2.30pm i started my trip back down the road going via Monifieth where my mum and dad are holidaying at the caravan site, arriving home at 6pm. All in all it has been a great day out, thanks again stuart. Is it fair for a pigeon who times in on the national result 3 times from over the water, doesn't get recognition for it in the way of a silver award? and the mileage covered is in the region of 2000 miles (x3 650 miles). That's what happened to oor Maverick? Surely this pigeon and others deserve more recognition, in a fairer way???
  13. He's looking well Brian, raping all the other doo's at the moment lol. look forward to racing him, and wont be throwing him away. all the best for today.
  14. Thank you all very much for the comments, much appreciated, and look forward to building on this year. bring on the young guns lol.
  15. Cheers gary hope so lol. your right Gareth, buggered me up a wee bit but as i say, lesson learned.
  16. I,ve learned from the Eastbourne result, that i made 250th open, 94th region, 32nd fed(est),14th west fife section(est)and 4th club. I am absolutely delighted to have achieved my very first diploma since i started racing pigeons. HOWEVER......i sent eleven and only got one home. I am saddened to be only left with 3 old birds from this season, especially as i,m trying to build up a team. Hindsight would say that i maybe should have stopped some here and there to give me numbers for next year. But i set out my stall and now paying for it. Lesson learned. I,m still smiling though having achieved my first diploma, and the building continues. well done to all who made the result.

  20. 1 from 11, say no more..
  21. Returns here if Fife are diabolical, from what i was hearing at the clocks. I,m waiting on 10 from 11, which finishes my season for the old birds. Well done Robbiedoo another good performance, keep it up mucker. Stuart, its just been another one of those races for us
  22. yours is there mucker.
  23. Is there any rules/guidelines to using the lib-line. I called in at 1630 to record my time and being cock a hoop about having a time in, was keen to see it in lights on the lib-line. However an hour and a half later and its still not there, the last recording is 5.00pm. The reason i ask is, is it worth the phone-call???
  24. And the same to yourself Brian. I think the clocks are 8.30pm-10.00pm going by the national book?,unless there's been a change.
