  6. ahem its "gas safe" my dear fellow , corgi is so out
  7. cheers for the support douglas, i,ve got pmt so leave me alone
  8. Yes jade part of my proposal was that anyone sending more than 20 birds paid a further 10p per bird. Thank you for your support, alex.
  9. When i was at Kennoway i spent hours days and weeks working out a solution, and was based on what the welsh boys do. Our president change the figures and put them in words ie THREE for 3. This in turn caused total confusion. We should not have to rely on sales or birdage. I cant see the sense in someone sending 6 birds and saying that they are doing their bit. If someone sends a big team, its them that are supporting the fed. The position we should be in is to say this is what its going to cost to run our convoyer split between all members ie £16.500 split by 165 members = 100 pound each. Its so simple. So the guys that are sending every week are getting a fair crack of the whip, and the members who cant or wont fly, aint getting subsidised by others. If you are a football player, and the time comes where your not fit enough to play, you have to stop. However what we say in our sport is, i know your an oap or on the dole or cant afford your way, dont worry about it others will help you out. Sad but true. We as a fed need to look at the balance sheet. take away the birdage gained and sales and dance. Leaving what it cost us to run the transporter, and divide it by the membership. The money from the sales ect can then be divided through the members to cut costs dowm ie £16500 convoyer £ 1000 yb sale £ 1000 lb sale £ 1000 dance £16,500 divided by 165 members equals £100 each. £3000 gained in sales ect divided by 165 members equals £18. Take away £18 from £100 = £88 fees. Now the stick in the gullet is that the guys who couldnt give a toss get discount, this can be combated by taking the names of donours/buyers at sales and take the names who attend the dance, and that is the members who take full discount. If 100 members have shown support in one way or the other, divide the 3000 by 100 which would mean that these members would pay £70, where as the others have to pay the full £100. Pie in the sky..........maybe but something has to be done. I dont wear this one where people are getting on and poor. all they have to do is show support at the events held by the fed, and they will get a discount, simple? no? only my opinion.
  10. YES YES YES. As the birdage and members is in decline and costs are going up, there comes a time where we need to help each other. Advantages. split costs of running the convoying. savings for the membership which lets us concentrate on our sport and not politics. Have inter fed competition. healthier birdage. more support. better relations. In the East we have quite a few feds who can help each other by joining up. Disadvantages. i cant see any, any more than being on the snfc lorry. Our feds are being run by history, if its good its great. If its bad then its hellish, and it stinks that this is the case. We get 45-50 members turn up for an agm, out of 165, so the writing is on the wall even before the meeting starts. Even though this effects all of the members. The ones that dont bother to turn up are normally the ones asking for change through the season. SENSE NEEDS TO PREVAIL...............NOW!!!!!!!!
  11. Archie i got told that the meeting was cancelled for monday????? will speak to elaine tommorrow. We need this meeting to get things moving NOW for next year instead of sitting doing nothing!!!!
  12. i need to speak to you at some point for finer details, we really need change.
  13. you know and i know why? bloody frustrating, time we all took a good look at the situation and get it sorted out
  14. It takes some of them to pay the fee's we already pay. my way of thinking is set a proposed cost for the season ie £16,500 divided by the membership 165, = 100 each sorted. whether there is 1 bird on the back or 3000, its all paid for, simple, but oh no no no not on your nelly will that work.
  15. Fife feds biggest birdage this year was 2800approx, old birds. We have just sent around 600 for an open race. We cannot continue like this and our members need to realise this, as we are going down, imo. and thats 14 clubs with 165 members.
  16. Around about the same from the west section o fife. pretty poor, it would be interesting to know how and who the members are that have sent, thus supporting the fed. I know we have been hit hard, but our federation isn't going to be able to afford these types of birdages, and in my eyes the only way is down. A lot of thinking is needed, and sooner rather than later. :(
  17. thank you brian, i,m sending one, hopefully he turns up for me. Good luck fife fanciers
  18. dougie 41  your joking....right? either that or he had a bloody hard paper round  Seriously though, many happy returns mucker, have a good un, if you can
  19. If i get my one from wakefield he will be going to the national. Its Joe murphys exchange pigeon which was bred from Davie Baldie St. Andrews. So fingers and every other thing crossed.
  20. sending one to wakefield 186 miles.
  21. arrow head is probably "v" perches that your are referring to which are very good. Lift off perches are very good also, and you can also have a beam put up as well. It depends what suits you, and your birds. I use lift off perches, the negative is that hens pair up and lay in them. Positives are that there is less mess on the floor, and you only need to clean them out every few weeks. V perches would leave mes on the floor, but they wouldnt allow nesting. The beam is the same as the v. hope that helps, alex.
  22. I,ve been up to Stuarts a few times now, and with the quality of his pigeons and his enthusiasm for doing well, has got to be admired. I have had pigeons from stuart and have been very happy with them every time. Anyone buying his birds wont be disappointed.
  23. no problems here either, must the operator at your end
  24. Well done Andy, great flying
