  1. good comments/opinions there. the only way to see if it done any detrimental damage to our youngsters would be to not have a national for one year and see what the results are. But thats not going to happen. i suppose its down to each and everyone's preference as what they see as the best way for themselves. Interesting though thanks, alex.
  2. Well done guys, great flying, alex.
  3. Thats right Derek, i kept an eye on my other post and saw that unfolding. Just wondered if we didnt have one would our birds as yearlings be better for it? At the last race how would our birds be graded? on the east and even up north, the guys would be well chuffed with what has been learned. However like yourselves, got it hard, and i can appreciate the frustration felt. I was based in the east section of Fife where racing was great, however i,m now in the west and find it very hard to compete even at fed level. I,ll just have to move back lol
  4. When we race our pigeons, we all like to compete at all levels. Young birds require education, to help them do this. So..... is it fair to have a young bird national? Does it scare the yb that much, that we could be losing potentially good birds for the future. Or on the other hand, does it stand them in good stead, by sending them with the best of the best at such a young age. Your opinion's are greatly appreciated. Regards alex.

  9. 100 rings coming my way, to help try and get a team of pigeons together that can last the pace and hopefully do some damage. Been trying for 2 years, and keep getting hammered losing 50%, and as i only had 19 to race, that left me with only 10 (not enough. This will be a one off though and then i,ll be back to 30, hopefully lol.
  10. Well done Stuart really chuffed for you, brilliant finish to a brilliant season. Bring on 2011 ;)

  14. Good luck to all who are participating today. please put your time ins here.
  15. Just put 2 bids on different pigeons. Spoilt for choice, but to be honest there will be something coming from me, as i,ve known about Derricks condition from the start which is harrowing. Little Anna is the same age as my wee boy, and the family must be beside themselves with Derricks condition which is a roller coaster ride. A massive well done to all concerned for the fund raising, ps good luck for the car boot sale tommorrow. Regards alex.

  17. What does this mean Derek? what do we need to do (being a snfc novice) lol
  18. I,ll be training late breds through the winter gently gently, and continue the training with the old birds next year. It wont be till the following year that they will be on the road, going as far as the young bird programme. The following year after that its all the way. Thats the plan anyway

  24. Heres hoping so mucker. yip its loft altering time again lol.
  25. As we near the end of another season, and start to plan for 2011. When it comes to breeding, it can be a nightmare to get pairs settled into a box. Does anyone feel that by colour coding them helps? I,ve often thought about painting a strip of different colours to each box and see if it helps. Any opinions greatly appreciated. Cheers, alex.
