The point of the thread Albear was to emphasise how stupid we all were to believe in this man. I was one of the first people to smell a rat when this guy came on the scene.That was 4 years ago and he has swindled alot of people since then. He has been caught cheating and will never fly another pigeon in Scotland. England , beware lol ;D

I am a firm believer in studying the moult of my National candidates at this time of year.I wont go into it too much ,but I think you can tell if a pigeon has a chance of scoring in Nationals the following year by the kind of moult it has had. I have been successful at picking one out of my own team, for several years now. 2008 was a ch.cock that ended up 16th Open Ypres. He had never been across channel before and had not even won a club prize before. He also won 2 x 2nd prizes in club last year. Food for thought

Its all about peaking ladies & gentlemen. Getting the pot to boil at the correct time of year. This is achieved with great patience and determination. However, all will fail if you dont have the tools for the job. ( and sometimes fail even when you do have the right birds ) :'( Its a hard game flying the distance races but all the hard work is worth it when you see that bird close its wings about half a mile from the loft and your heart misses one hundred beats. Nothing on the planet can compare to the ecstacy you feel.

spot on m8, observations the key.Our club introduced a £10 pool for 3- birds .I won it 12 weeks out of 13, ( OVER 30 LOFTS IN CLUB ) just watching my birds.Not one pigeon won it twice. Needless to say, the pool was stopped the following year at the AGM ;D ;D

Dont know what year it was, I think around 1996/7, the temperature was minus 27 in Scotland.My loft was in the middle of a field and when I changed the frozen water in loft, the time i was ready to leave the water had frozen up again. I had birds sitting on small ybs, no nest felts, no electric and no heaters. Never lost a yb, in fact the down on ybs was fantastic. A brilliant team of ybs were bred, gaining top prizes every time they were raced.

Anybody, that has the balls to stand up and be counted when the integrity and security of the SNFC is at risk of being breached. If you dont meet this criteria then you dont belong on the SNFC Committee ( my opinion )
