Initially, with the amount of birds missing, I assumed it was down to clashing.Now, I think it is a combination of things. The Wetherby, Wakefield, Selby etc area is reknowned for peregrine attacks ( remember the OB Wakefield, lots of birds injured,I myself had 5 return hawked ) With this in mind, I think maybe after getting struck by BOP the convoy has split into groups, heading in all directions. Clashing could have took part thereafter and this would account for alot of things.

You talk about club and fed members only wanting 100 miles. Is this not a backward step, when you think about how our fathers/ grandfathers flew the pigeons. I remember certain feds having 2 x Stafford ( 230 miles )yb races. We darent take a step backwards, instead we should be looking to get to the bottom of these yb disasters. As Ive said before, communication between race controllers, federations and Governing bodies working together and fanciers in general playing the game, all this can eradicate alot of the problems we have regarding yb racing.

The other cause of feathers curling is PMV but in this instance it definately sounds as if you have good form in your loft.

Yes well done Frank. I think we should all be doing our bit to get these poor feckin ybs back home. Ive got a fella asking about the Newbiggin area if there are any Scottish ybs.I will go down and pick them up.

No m8, 1 in 10. The SNFC print all birds that are timed in race time from the longest race but prizes are won 1 in 10 and thats it. Alot of folk claiming Open prizes and they havent won them
