saving passwords is not a problem, if a hacker wants the info hell use a key logger to record everything you type, just have a good firewall. i am on vista as well it makes no differance as its explorer that you need to configure, i am using the latest explorer the tabbed version,

on your desktop shortcut right click the explorer icon. click properties click the content tab at the top go to auto complete settings ensure prompt me to save passwords is ticked hope this helps
