Yeah I know what you mean Sammy but Pigeon Men are funny creatures and if say the SHU didnt sell rings till 1st March then they would just go buy them elsewhere. I fully agree about curtailing racing until May as early April its still cold and also we could extend the season as the climate is changing. As for putting Legal stuff on the feathers it would maybe work and I,m all for it but how long do you think it would stay legal before the hawk brigade got it outlawed. Think also that we should be allowed to protect our birds as they are classed as livestock when it comes down to vaccinations etc but when its down to protecting them they suddenly become pets. Hopefully something can be done soon but I wont hold my breath but will keep my fingers crossed mate.

End of the day the SHU is the only union in the UK who has fought the fight, they have managed to get licences for the trapping and removal of Sparrowhawks legalised in Scotland albeit not many are granted but what have the RPRA and the rest managed. Time for talking has gone, been tried and didnt work so its time to just forget all the niceties and get on with what we do best. If we have a problem lets get it sorted and stop posting silly things on an open forum which could in the end be used against us, time for Admin to remove posts which could damage the reputation of us Real Pigeon Fanciers instead of removing posts which only hurt a few favourites. Lets all get our act together n hopefully then we have a future but stop posting things on here that are just fantasy and could in the end hasten the demise of our Sport.
