  1. My secretary Derek, I dont have one, also dont have an agenda as to who transports my birds what I do have is an opinion and that is that my birds are more comfortable in wicker and shavings. Why have none of you commented on the Vets report because I know you have all read it, is it because it pours cold water on to your Geraldies are better. I well remember seeing the MNFC transporter at Blackpool and thinking this is the bees knees, but that was a real Geraldy, water on Three sides and grills in every basket the ones that the Lanarkshire have I believe only water on the back same as a basket and no grills just standing on cardboard, well Im afraid thats not my idea of progress Derek. So come on what your take on the Vets report?
  2. In reply to a post of mine a couple of weeks ago you said "4 bean tins of easibed will sort the problem" well 4 bean tins of easibed widnae make my grandsons hamster comfortable, and 3 years you,ve had the doos, well thats no even long enoough to wear out a scraper. As I said read the Veterinarian report, or if thats too difficult get someone to read it to you.
  3. Gearge there is nobody hates Lanarshire, or for that matter any other federation but there is no evidence to say that Geraldie type crates and transporters are any better than the ones we have always used. If you read the veterinary report into the Maidstone race you may find that the vet was full of praise about the condition of the birds the ventilation of the transporter and also the comfort afforded to the birds, I wonder what he would say if he say the pools of droppings on the cardboard prior to the Lanarkshire liberation that is on you-tube. Maybe George when you have a few years experience with the pigeons, then you will be qualified to make a comparison. Tell you what after 7 days standing in sh** with nothing to dry it up your birds will not be in a fit state to fly 50 mls never mind 500 and dont hit me with 4 bean tins of easibed will sort it cos it wont, the birds need and deserve a 2 inch layer of shavings so they can lie down and rest.
  4. Ive bet Els, Harrington and Macdowell
  5. Derek m the same every race, I do my owne race controlling and if I dont like what I see I dont send, case in point being the inland Newbury last year knew we wernt gonna get a race so didnt send. Weve had this weather for a fortnight now so the guys who are shoutin yesterday about the no of birds in a basket could have foned the sec and asked for it to be looked at but naw well just go on basics and have a dig at the committee and we,ll mibe fone a scribe in the BHW and get him to have a dig as well, well I,m done with it flook you,s all, hope they only put 15 in at the North section cos that will just be giving Andy and the rest work filling the baskets to 20 at this end. I see Williedoo has had enough of them up there this year too and is chucking it,another good worker down the tubes. And as for Geraldies have Lanarkshire or any other Feds using them had any better racing this year, only need to look at the Ancesis race against Ypres, falling in at 430 from Ypres from wicker, but struggling at 300 from Ancesis into the Midlands from Geraldy.
  6. If you aint happy do as I do and keep them in the loft cos thats exactly where mine are tonite and if you think I dont give a damn about the doos welfare then you dont know me but at the end of the day the rules are made for everyone to follow and for everyones pigeons to have the same chance in the race.
  7. Aye and from what I hear they are so flimsy you need a frame to lift them on to the lorry when they are filled?
  8. Might be worth while having a look at one then or does someone have a photo that can be posted up?
  9. Im not scaremongering Walter, just pointing out facts. Wont bother me to pay £6 to send a bird as I only send 2 or 3 anyhow, just cut out some of the pools and that evens it out.
  10. Wouldnt bother me either Derek but when you take into consideration the fact that maybe 80% of our members are either OAP,s or unempolyed then I think it could have a significant effect on both the birdage and membership of our Club. If for instance it meant taking 2 transporters to a racepoint instead of one it could effectively mean paying £6 a bird instead of £3 as you would be doubling the cost of the race. Its all things that need looked at, same as these baskets with the drinkers down the side this would take away floorspace to make room for the drinker slot which would mean reducing the number of birds as well all of these things need to be taken into consideration, end of the day it wont be my problem next year
  11. Im also wondering how the fanciers will feel if the birdage goes up by 2 or 3 quid a bird to cover for the extra costs involved
  12. The baskets that the birds went to Ancencis in would not be the baskets the were initially put into they would be transferred into MNFC crates where their birdage rules would apply, but at the moment we have to put 20 to a basket, if you remember at the AGM their was a discussion about why 2 transporters went to Clermont when 1 would have sufficed and the extra cost involved, and that is why we are basketing Tues instead of Wed to allow the half empty baskets to be sorted and all birds onto the 1 motor.
  13. Aye well if you put it in writing Michael I,ll put my hand in the air for your proposal but at the present time the rule states 20 and it will not change just because it is spoken about by a few folk on a forum.
  14. The members had their say at an AGM where it was decided that the baskets would have 22 inland and 20 over the water each marking station therefore has their allocation worked out to these numbers.Im all for reducing the numbers in the baskets but it cant just be done willy nilly, what happens if you get a bigger than expected entry and you have underfilled the baskets what do you do with the ones at the end tell the guys sorry we,ve no more room because we havent enough baskets.
  15. As I said before Mr Masson if your not happy come to the AGM with a proposal and get it voted thru, but if you cant be bothered to attend nae point mouthing off about it on a forum.
  16. Aye Wullie me too had enough of the sheite the job attracts and to the detriment of my own doos, too many folk with there own agendas willing to do fook all but knock you down.
  17. So if it get cut to 15 then you,ll be wanting 10, then soon we,ll have a basket for every bird plus a spare in case that one gets dirty. At 20 a basket there is plenty room.
  18. And if the fans fail theyll be sitting in a mobile greenhouse
  19. Its Tues marking for a Friday race. It was changed Mr Masson at the AGM where all the bright sparks who wish to have a say in the running of the club get a chance to have there say, mibe see ya there next time eh, or mibe no
  20. Doesnt even warrant a reply, learn to spell before you post. "Welfare" is what you mean is it?
  21. Not got mine yet
  22. I would think that the race will close around 14.00 hrs on Monday in the Central belt
  23. The clock station will be opening tonight for Ancensis Clocks between 6pm-7pm and also at the same time on Monday at Castlepark Bowling Club, West Loan Prestonpans.
