johnny miller goes over and back
-
race away mate u should have no major problems i personally would like a toss or two for the birds u might have to lighten the feed a little other than that u should have no major problems
-
u will have as good as chance as any bird of getting home its obvious that the bird has a love of home best of luck
-
john patterson legend hes in the north
-
sad really u think there was no muggings drugs or any other social problems when they are out there wondering i better stop a pigeon man training his birds because hes not insured even if it the law and the copper is right u would think they might have better things to be doing

spen the list is endless where u can buy my advice is a back garden fancier living in a bad location putting up some good results remember a fancier does not need 20 firsts a season to be puting up good results also what ever u choose make sure the loft is good i mean as in airflow as otherwise no matter who's birds u buy u wont do them justice just a few tips when buying 1 loft location e,g taking in wind direction and where he is living 2 amount of birds he flys also the amount that's in the competition 3 lofts are hes lofts magnificent if so u have to ask can u replicate the fanicers lofts where u are buying from 4 i personally like to buy off small set ups back garden fanicers im sure there more i could add but as u said u are new to all this my advice is to learn to read results sometimes Ive seen what i make out to be the best bird of the race down the results sheet might sound strange but the fancier might not be living in a hot spot hope this helps a little

that the birds are rested not moving around in the night so they are settled id like to see a few more down feathers
-
have said it before average out what birds u have at the end of season lets say over the last 5 year and that roughly what your loft can hold i have a loft holds 40 max have put more into it numbers are not exactly correct but u will get my point i have put 50 or a little more a number of times and i end up with 35 to 40 the last 2or 3 year have put 40 in it and and i end up with 35 36 birds i think this tells a story in its self i think u are being a little unfair on foreign birds of course some crap and a lot of it has come from Holland Belgium and the likes not everything bred this side of the world is world bethers either but some fanastic birds have come too what janssens van reets busharts and many more have done for racing in this country is unreal remember Brian shepherds legend had the jos thone lines and im sure the some of the fanicers that know a lot more about the distance pigeons than i do would be able to tell u more about the lines and strains that are in the birds that have put up fantastic performances in the international races

probally better will need the fingers to hold the birds ;D ;D ;D
-
tried that i have one less finger ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
have a good one
-
for instances like this some form of gps would of been handy where they could watch the birds 2 years in a row something not right :-/ pity as set up seems to be set up and be professional
-
to be able to check dropings is a must i feel each box tells a story
-
well maybe look more to small lofts that have good results and that are living in the wrong area ive seen in race results where in my opinion the best bird was down the results as where the bird had to fly into
-
have a good one
-
really nice set up there
-
maybe a little harsh there have seen some top lofts this year get Young bird sickness im going to stick my head out a bit here we all had smashes throughout the years but if u look at who was winning 10 years ago or top fanicers that got back into the sport i don't think its any surprise its the same people that don't lose any pigeons and keep wining races good pigeons good management and if u have the feeding anyway right u shouldn't lose birds i have one young bird lofts capable of holding 40 young ones comerable i have at times put 50 young ones in it i end up losing 10 young ones or more if i put 40 young ones as i did for the last 3 year i think my young bird losses were no more than 5 for the whole young bird season and that with 90% or more racing the full young bird program i think last year it was 3 young ones lost
-
think i read on here someone had trouble with squirrels :-/
-
wouldn't the boys on lorry have to paid as well :-/
-
well done and i see its only your second race that's impressive
-
good thread i would agree with maybe a 3 bird limit at club level but all birds going to the fed or national have always taught in bigger clubs why don't they have a 2 league system working on points as its not fair that a new starter has to go up against a top flyer with years under his belt haven't really thought out how it work but maybe something to go on :-/
-
sorry should have explained it better if your club only allows the first 4 birds lets say u have 10 birds clocked with all 10 in with a chance of getting a national position will your club just pass on the first 4 or will all 10 birds times go to the national for the result hope this makes sense
