  1. ;D ;D ;D Yes !!!!!! but you will bounce back etc ok ;) All us footy fans (No matter what code) are as thick as bricks :) so to speak. But each year we front up for more punishment in most cases. Just like pigeon racing, & we love to dream etc of the glory days : : : which many of us have had in the past & that makes us happy for a while :P . "Till reality sets in". You could say. Enjoy.
  2. Don't tell me,!!!!!!! you haven't twigged yet where I'm from ;) here. What did you think of our "Little Bay" its a wee bit wider in parts than the "Pond" isn't it :D & did you pop on down to see the penguins (Philip Island) etc, & gaze out over the ocean :P to that little island down south 200miles ;D ;D ;D That we just happen to race from on a regular basis. PS. I do hope finally, that this may answer your query etc : : : Enjoy

    Advice

Some here would say ?????? ;D ;D ;D if the best you have got to do etc, is watch me, your in real trouble (Get a life so to speak) :D . I just hope you can educate in some small way :P that bufoon you mentioned above. I might just mention this to a mate of mine !!!!! he's a sargeant at arms so to speak & is as tough as nails & I would never want to meet him in a dark alley on a dark night, sort of thing. But a "Crack a Jack" pigeon flyer in his own rite. Many here say, he is as hard with his pigeons etc as he is with the criminal's & he is :X :X :X. Enjoy.
  4. Vic, !!!!!! :D It certainly is a small world !!!!!!. Forget about our differences etc :P At least I know your brother is a pretty smart man ;) & if assume correctly ????? he's a very close neighbour of mine ;) . You might like to ask him next time your having a wee chat etc, if he is still involved in the sport. He can tell you, ?????? much of what I say is correct & factual, & not a lot of crap/bullshit 8) 8) 8). PS. If your ever smart enough to come on down here, to see your brother etc I will arrange have a beer with you (2 Grumpy old men together) Wouldn't that be a scream . Enjoy.
  5. ;D ;D ;D I have!!!!!!! ;) One could say, it's all that white stuff etc, in your back yard. "But then" Their are a few of us here, who some would say are "Knackered" completely :D For many different reasons etc. So don't feel as if your on your own here now. PS Love the hair ;D ;D ;D when you was a boy ;) . Mine was short back & sides etc & a wee bit cold in the winter :D you could say. Enjoy.
  6. Jim !!!!!!! Similar background to you "Re club etc" quite sad really, but thats life today. Don't worry to much about boasting etc "4 National wins" ;D ;D ;D Many of us here I suspect ????? would like to be able to do the same ;) . Enjoy.
  7. Vic !!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D I would never wish to be argumentative with you :P here (Not my nature). But not all that you say above is correct in my view ;) But I love your humour (Keep it up) 10 out of 10 :D one could say. PS You done me by 1 year, 1956 for me. So if I may, I will hang around for awhile ?????? to see if I can beat you :P . Enjoy.
  8. Love it !!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D :D ;) Just as well ????? they don't have the breathaliser (Police) waiting down the road one could say, or your 4 hours !!!!!. Might turn into an overnight holiday :P . PS. Same suburb, 2 minute drive for me. Enjoy.

    Advice

"Head for cover chaps" ;D ;D ;D we have the law looking over our shoulder here :D now. I might have to change my style of posts etc :P . "Fortunately" ??????, you don't have my mug shot ;) so I'm safe for a while. Excellent post here above etc & good advice in my view. I have a good mate (Pom) who for years raced on an allotment up in the north east area as such, 20+ lofts & this was always a big problem to them, for what he told me. He along with his family & grampa & grandma all headed south you could say, to get away from the coal dust & your winters etc. Anyway!!!!!! since he has had his lofts in his own back yard so to speak here, the enjoyment factor has gone up 1000% for him & his family, & the issue's you mentioned has never been a problem for him now & he has never missed that nagging feeling. All the time that he had, when he went to the lofts each day back then. Of not quite knowing ????? if everything was going to be there in it's place, so to speak. So anything/suggestion that can help catch some of the low life of our society etc, (Not just pigeons) should be used. Enjoy.

;D ;D ;D Dublinflyer !!!!!!! You must remember now !!!!!!!! We think ???????? somewhat differently to you here & I didn't lay down the rules as such. That was done 100 odd years ago etc, (So don't blame me) but I know why you would scratch your head & be somewhat confused & bewilded so to speak :P . So I will tell you a little secret :) just between the 2 of us here now, & no one else ;D ;D ;D because they might think we are a bit strange/weird you could say & I would never want that to happen (I want people here, to think I'm smart & intelligent) : : :. We classify any pigeon from 1 day old on, if it goes in a race, as a old bird in the old bird season. "Strange isn't" but thats our way of doing things, & 85%+ of the pigeons racing, are as you would put it, young birds etc & are actually racing as old birds here. "Confused are you" ????? ;D ;D ;D well don't worry about it to much, it's not worth it & it's just life in the sport of pigeon racing "Aussie style". PS. It may have something to do with "Uncle Ned" (Ned Kelly) & his outlook on life etc :P, at least thats my explanation for the moment here. But why still to some, it may appear a bit strange. Enjoy.
  11. ;D ;D ;D I've got one or two you can have :P Down from "Rainstorm" lovely pieds, they love the wind up there backside etc here !!!!!!!. But you would have to pick them up yourself :D & that could be a wee bit of a problem ;) . I do actually have some in my loft here & they are crackers on there day, so I'm sorry I'm not a wee bit closer ?????? to you, to help you out. But hopefully ???? someone will, in your local area as such. Enjoy.
  12. Absolute waste of time ;) & how anybody could think ????? (Not you Vic) that they could become their best racing pigeons etc, is beyond my comprehension I'm afraid. Enjoy.
  13. The cheapest I can find ;D ;D ;D & I've known good pigeon flyers, that never give it to there birds etc. So maybe ?????? ;) its just another one of those things we give our birds at times. Which is more for our piece of mind so to speak, & the pigeons can really do without it, & find enough, just pecking around in the back yard for there needs. "Tammy 1" I see you have brought in some imports recently in your area ;D ;D ;D (Nice eyes) to boost your stock levels up :P . What a sight it was on TV last night for me, !!!!!! 1/2 million starlings they said. Amazing to watch, a lot of crap thou :D so I hope there not settling on your roof for the night etc & if they were. I would come over & send them in an easterly direction to my mate ?????? :P . Enjoy
  14. In simple terms "No" as many of us here know !!!!!!! pigeons will eat most things if they hungry enough etc, & I would never suggest to anyone to feed 100% of the above. "But" These sorts of pellets you mentioned, in most cases have many different vitamins & minerals in them when they are produced etc, so can be of benifit to our pigeons at times ??????? depending on the season so to speak. Myself :P I'm quite happy to use them etc at around 10 to 20% for breeding & 5% basically for the rest of the year & have done so for many years now, & have not found any reason "Yet" why I would not continue, using them. Enjoy.
  15. Interesting comment above, & I would have to say. Your being a wee bit harsh etc here, "Re Beverdam". Never met the man, never likely to (distance) But if I went & bought 48 pigeons from anyone (within reason) & they were all duds etc ;D ;D ;D I would have a good look at myself in a mirror & perhapes/definately change my management system ;) , "It's Crap" :P . PS if I had those 48 pigeons you mentioned above ??????? I'd be in heaven, so to speak ;D ;D ;D & I bet, I would get something out of them worth having etc. Enjoy.

    pairing up

That's the way I would attack ;D ;D ;D if I was interested in young birds etc (which I'm not & never have been). In my area as such !!!!!! the rings each year are issued from the 1st of July & young birds start in March the following year, & the young bird fanatics are chanting at the bit, so to speak. To get their rings as early as possible. I mate in October & breed through to the end of January, with the old bird season starting in June/July. But each to their own & many roads lead to Rome. Enjoy.

    HAWK GLOBE

Tammy 1 !!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D I might just take up your suggestion ;) (Could work, reasonable suggestion) Trouble is ??????? :D I would need quite a few of them etc :P Cause, when the little black flash/flashes :) are out for a bit of enjoyment as such :D I would more than likely, be throwing them at him in desperation :P . You could say. Enjoy.
  18. Welcome abroad Neneland, you don't need me to tell you what a great site this etc ;D ;D ;D. But there are some real "Nutters" about & a few "Misfits" :D & I just hope you have some fun/enjoyment, trying to figure out. Who is what ?????? & where they fit into the scheme of things ;) . Enjoy.
  19. Richard !!!!!!!! The same from me also. As a blow in here, compared to most etc. I really do appreciate "Big Time" the effort by you, to have such a outstanding site. It's a "Beauty". So enjoy your day, you really do deserve it etc, for putting up with the cranky old men ;D ;D ;D & the misfits etc like myself :P . Enjoy.
  20. Tammy 1 !!!!!! ;D ;D ;D You want to go have a good look in a mirror so to speak, along with your good women :K) :K) :K) Because you have a "Big" "Big" problem I'm afraid, as sad as it is here :D , Because my mate ??????, keeps telling me etc, that my posts have nothing of any content which would be of any value to anyone. So lift your game ;D ;D ;D etc, & what do you say !!!!!! we both change our attack here :) & become 2 grumpy old men together as an example. :D . Just to make life that bit more enjoyable so to speak, for some we know :P. Enjoy.
  21. Rose !!!!!!! You have to remember now I'm a bit of an outcast here ;D ;D ;D & a bit of a misfit :D , also I'm at the other end of the world to Hogni, so to speak ;D ;D. Because of this ????? we do many things somewhat differently to most of you here. But to answer your question re my post etc 500 & 600 miles for me & it is not unknown or out of the ordinary as such, for pigeons bred february/march to in september fly 700miles. We love to race what we call "late breds" here & if you get them fit & fired up etc, the old folk ;D ;D ;D 2-3-4-5 old pigeons are just not in the same league. They are just to damm slow or smart ?????? which ever way you wan't to look at it . Now!!!!! Re "The Pond" We also have a wee little bit of water here :D & we will wack these same pigeons of mine across it ;D ;D ;D, for their 1st race without blinking an eye so to speak & its 200 miles of water & depending on the angle etc, in other areas, its much much longer over the water when they race over it, & it has been known ????? to get somewhat rougher than "The Pond" ;D ;D & to give you a small clue ????. It's called "The Bass Strait". PS. This has turned out, quite an interesting topic don't you think. Re other posts etc. Enjoy.
  22. ;D ;D ;D :D Do you think ?????, George might struggle a wee bit ;) to get them home do you ;D ;D ;D Tammy 1. "Now" Depending on which line we are on etc it's usually around 150 - 165 miles for me, But many flyers (Myself included at times), dont bother to start them, till the next stage around 240 + miles etc here. Remember also George ;D ;D ;D if you happen to read this !!!!!, these are babies 6 to 9 months old & it's the middle of winter, so to speak. So you may like, after reading this ??????. To be a bit more adventurious in the future :P . Enjoy.
  23. I always place my bowls in the nest with pine needles & sand, before The pairs go in their box locked down etc. I think it's important to do it this way. Because it makes the pairings more enjoyable for the different pairs etc, than if they were just stuck in a box with a mate so to speak with nothing to fire them up sort of thing, for a few days. Of course ;D ;D ;D it all gets thrown out by the birds very quickly ;) But I don't really mind & I just replace it again & everyone is happy "Again". Enjoy.
  24. ;D ;D ;D Isn't that amazing ?????? :D what a small world etc we live in here. We both race the same family so to speak :P I hope yours are as successful as mine, if not better :) . I've had mine for 35 years & they love head winds & the distance so to speak, & when I talk to the modern generation here & they ask me, what I have etc, (I'm honest) & I say it's either heinz 57 variety or licorice all sorts so to speak & they look at me as if I'm stupid ;D ;D ;D "But then" ;) you may be able to relate to that. Enjoy.
  25. "Well Done" They look very nice to me as such. "Pity Thou" ;D ;D ;D you have to put pigeons in them ;) as we all know, what they do to pass the time. Enjoy.
