  1. Spoke with the chap, Gareth Hensey, in Birr. He flies with Munster Fed but they are not across the water for a few weeks. Looked at the map and Birr is right bang in the middle of Ireland and looks like its of the beaten track.
  2. Lad just said the middle. I was driving and wasnt great signal. I will give him a bell back and get some more info. Would like to do what i can for her.
  3. Got a call this afternoon from a chap in middle of Ireland with a 4 year old hen of mine, she never made it back from Aycliffe. Surprised she ended up over there as she had flown well for me. Hes going to feed and water her then send her on her way in a few days. Fingers crossed.
  4. That's my next job Stuart, sort out her trapping, last week she messed around for 5 minutes going to pond for a drink, this week 7 minutes enjoying the sun on the loft before I got her in. It was quite an arrival, when you gave me your time I worked out I needed to be in at 15,24 to beat you. She arrived at 15.20 but then we lost the 7 minutes. All part of racing I suppose And very well done on your club win
  5. Thanks again lads, and at risk of blowing my own trumpet heres the sheet. Beautiful morning again her, just hope to see some more home today.
  6. Thanks Frank, and thanks lads. Have to say I really am so chuffed with my wee hen. She was in my first five from my first race this year and then next three races she has been my first every week, probably around top 50 in the fed last week too. not bad for an unraced yearling. The icing on the cake is she is from Franks doos and that really does mean so much to me. he told me he would chase them on their way and he has kept his word. Have to say I was a bit emotional driving home after clocks tonight and just wish he could have been one of those I was phoning with my news.
  7. Only two here from 14. Not good, still nice but winds freshening, first at 15 27.
  8. Aye hes in good nick. Never been injured.
  9. Very well done indeed Tam, topping the Glasgow fed with Alexandria club :-D
  10. Think i used all my luck last weekend, will keep you posted ;-)
  11. Thanks lads. Hes always been on the lean side, more so after a race. Hes been well fed and rested, flying well around loft so he will go this weekend. Al.
  12. Ive a cock that had a couple of races ladt year but stopped him as was a bit keely. Same this year. Just cant build him up. Im inclined to send him this weekend. He was 8 hours on wing from otterburn, kept home last week. Flying over and hour a day with the rest. Any ideas or advice how to deal with him. Dont want to throw him away but dont want to waste time either.
  13. You lads got it bad. Had a cracking looking cheqer pied land with two of ours but didn't come in. I haven't seen it before but I'm sure we saw a few racers heading north over us yesterday. . We always see a few streeters about but these were different. Suppose it would figure with the fresh easterly wind. Well of track where ever they were going.
  14. That's a real sore one, hope you see some more in next few days.
  15. Did you get some today?
  16. I hoped for more today but just one this morning, was a beautiful day but a good stiff easterly breeze.
  17. And the sorry thing is if our doos ended up in his loft they would probably end up in the bin. Fortunately not all like that though and its always a pleasure to help them get home, and have others help ours get home.
  18. One here about 9 am. Still waiting on a good four year old hen. Thats 8 from 11.
  19. Hopefully more will turn in. Its a great morning. Nothing in tge trap here yet.
  20. Big thanks to Andy Kyle, Alf, Jakey, Eddie Mcann, Tony Adamson, Malky Brown, Jim Nichol and Tom Smith for getting two doos back to me and one down the road to Jamie. Great how everyone is happy to do their bit and save a bit of grief. Much appreciated everyone.
  21. 7 from 11 and one from last week.
  22. What velocities did you do today lads? I'm about 1519 or so
