There has been a substantial increase in complaints on members hijacking threads over the last 2-3 months in fairness to what your saying though this has been more so in the week than at weekends - This is something we will certainly have to work on over the coming weeks and months as its putting people off posting new topics and asking questions - Fair enough they may get an anwser in PM to there question but to that end the other members also looking with intrest for responses lose that benefit. The mods and admin are not going to go crazy and pull every thread with a bit of banter on it all we ask is that its kept within reason and if its a serious thread relating to pigeons that it is allowed to run its course freely and sensibly. Quite often when floating around the portal there is a very high % of threads that have gone the way as described above and the original question is lost by not just posts but many pages of banter. At the same time if a thread is removed and the member who posted doesnt agree with the decision the easiest way to deal with it is to either PM a moderator who is online or Fifer or myself and an explanation will be given and in some cases the thread could be reinstated - With the amount of posts the mods have to deal with and the things that need doing behind the scenes it isnt always possible to send a PM to the poster as to why the thread was removed - The mods are obviously members to and they joined for the same reason as the members and thats to enjoy the site - Its a regret of mine that this isnt always possible.

I like the banter also Dougie and do participate in times when i take the admin hat off so to speak. Any member can be on the chit chat though so its not like an exclusive board its more out of respect to those that want to talk pigeons and nothing else but pigeons and not have perfectly good threads ruined which is the trend at the minute. Take a look on the notice board or in the portal and look at how many threads are actually pigeon related and those that are having a laugh. I cant speak for all the mods but im sure a good % of them would like to participate in having a good laugh and a joke as well but as with the guidelines they are spending more time having to remove threads, posts and dealing with complaints etc. This site can in my opinion can rightly be regarded as the best pigeon site on the web anywhere in the world - To keep it this way though its important we can seperate the club house style banter and the Pigeons where possible. Hoping my thoughts are coming across in the manner it was intended.

During a bad period for the site back i think it was last year we as members were all actually kicked off the site for a period of time whilst Richard drew up a new format for the site - If those who were members at this time remember there was no chit chat allowed the site had pulled itself away from it. After requests from the members Richard agreed to put a chit chat section back on the site solely for the members to have banter and a laugh with each other. This is the reason we dont think it should be on the notice board or any other board apart from the chit chat board - I cant see why it matters so much to some that the banter is on the notice board when it has its own dedicated board. Some members dont want to see banter and such like on every thread - just as some like that kind of thing - Please respect that some want it some dont - hence why the chit chat thread is a subscription thread that members dont have to view. The mods and indeed the admin are following the instructions set out by the owner of the website - If the banter and ribbing etc was kept on the chit chat boards and threads were not hijacked i think the site members and moderators etc would all have a much more enjoyable time on it.

Since the birds have now gone i will lock this thread now - any questions relating to it can be directed to ferry via PM. Would like to say though (as i would have done on the other thread on the same subject) that in the last 2 seasons i have recieved birds from Ferry and the birds have been a credit to the man and indeed the family of pigeons he owns. Also apart from the first ones which were in Mac's YB exchange the rest were all gifts and am really looking forward to getting them across the water in 2010 as yearlings. Well done again to Ferry.

Thanks for the concern Frank ;D Very busy with work at the minute - doing very long days try to get the business established as well as the other jobs i hold until such a time. Also when not working trying to get the lofts back up and ready to hold the birds in. Also no work computer now which is where i spent most of my time online - Going to send Richard my christmas list early with iphone on top of the list ;)

Personally happy for the site to support a sale for such a good cause. However those organising will have to get in touch with Fifer or myself at some point as i think we will have Mick Bowler's cancer sale starting on site in the next week or two and for obvious reasons its best they dont clash.

Peter if it was a hacking then it wasnt one account today that was hacked but 2 - And facebook is one hell of a company to hack through. If it is a case that Wayne's people were not responsible for this post then he needs to consider how someone got his passwords for both these sites or at the very least he needs to consider making his passwords stronger. If this is the case and his password has been penetrated i will talk to him when he comes online and make available the information the site has regarding the post made/IP address etc.

Agree its an unwinable war - Afghanistan has elections and there still as corrupt as those in Zimbabwe under Mugabe etc Shouldnt worry about the money though Alan and where it can be spent. Plus we might as well disband all our armed forces now as we got invaded by Europe with that Lisbon treaty and have no real rights of our own! RIP to the 5 brave soldiers and all the others who have given up there life.

What did he actually have to say about the story? Surely the content of the article is of more importance than who posted it - especially for those of you who use this courier?
