  1. Once the list is supplied to Fifer or myself we will take a look at things and make a decision on where to go with failed bidders. Taking into account - http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/m-1264701909/ In the case of the Heroes sale we will then talk with the organisers of this sale and come to an agreement over the unsold lots etc.
  2. It wont be down for long (Famous last words)
  3. Nothing important will be lost such as private messages etc however still advise as always that if there is something important in a PM it is removed and placed onto a word document or such like. Everything we are doing and planning is centered around keeping ahead of potential problems in the future and moving the site forward.
  4. Excited i wouldnt be! ;D
  5. Same as just about every other forum then We got some different work for the Mods whilst its down so your all not getting bored ;D
  6. I will be pairing up and getting some jobs done outside
  7. Firstly Fifer, Richard and myself would like to apolygise unreservedly for the ongoing technical issues with the pigeonbasics.com website. We have been working hard as a unit to not only keep on top of these problems but also look for potential routes to divert these both in the short term but also on the long term. With regards to the short term - (Next 7 to 14 days) we have gradually phased out a number of forum features to try and take the pressure off the server and software - many wont be noticeable to the members but are more so to the admin. We cant say this aspect has worked as desired but obviously with the cancer sale and Ian's fund sale we have had very little option on this other than try to paper over the crack. Basically the period as noted above is i would expect going to remain somewhat difficult although we will continue to try and keep the site operational in this time. Once the cancer sale has been completed and we get the ok from the organisers we will look at putting into action our longer term plan to sort the sites technical issues out - This will we feel inevitably result in a period of downtime for the site - We certainly hope this will be kept to an absolute minimum but members will be informed beforehand and also we will set issue an email address to those with any questions etc whilst the site is non operational. We thank you for your continued support during this time and will keep the members updated on where things are. The Moderators will also use this notice as a link reference where applicable

  13. Please keep the thread civil and without need to take pop's First time i have looked into it but looks like its been a good thread up until about 4 posts ago.
  14. Its cleared now - just a little covering around the field i walk the dog so thats something at at least
  15. ;D thought it was quiet ;D
  16. Fingers crossed the short term issues are resolved for now with all test pms i sent actually going out. I cant comment on the members being unable to log in - This will be anwsered when they make the attempt to.
  17. Due to the current technical Difficulties the site will be closing at 12.30pm today for a short while. We hope to have it online again this afternoon. Must state this action is not to fix the overall ongoing problem but to try and get access back to the booted members and also the PM facility. As stated before the larger scale problem is being dealt with and will be implemented as soon as we can do.

    for admin

Explained the situation before and nothing has changed since.
  21. Is serious this morning Bob - Had a long list of jobs to do in the garden and this stupid white stuff has screwed it all up! >
  22. A member being invisble is really up to them - I used to do it when i solely wanted to do things on the site such as reading up on something through the old posts, nowdays its if i have plenty of work to do in a short time _ Its just easier than me offending people who send a PM by them seeing me online without replying straight away. Being invisible wouldnt affect our server thoughts as we can see who is online but invisible from the members online at the bottom
  23. It is clearly stated in the rules that threads which have been removed are not to be put back on the site and also bans and warnings issued are the business of the site and the member involved. The moderators have the full support of Fifer and myself to remove posts they see fit - These go onto a board where Archie or myself check them and if we dont agree the thread will be placed back on the site - If we feel the mod is correct the thread is left where it is. And as the discussion has gone before with us constant banter on a thread or topics which are deemed chit chat will be placed on that board and if a moderator decides to remove banter from a thread then so be it, this is after all a pigeon forum - Richard created an area for chit-chat on the conditon it was kept off the main boards - This isnt being the case. If banter is kept to chit chat it gives members the option and that is why they are removed. If anyone wishes to discuss this then they can do so via PM.
  24. Several - have had a bid on Mick Bowler's lot so far but some very good lots offered.

    site

To follow on what Archie has said. Moving servers isnt possible until after the sales are concluded as it will very likely mean some down time for the site
