    TOON

It will have done them good Alan Lots of dead wood on over hyped wages were cleared out when they got relegated
  2. My mrs tolerates them and that plenty enough for me - She puts up with them taking alot of time up and think she is secretly hoping i take up a less time consuming hobby sooner rather than later ;D
  3. thought that was Sidney ;D ;D ;D ;D
  4. I would take a visit to each club on a Saturday during the Old bird season and see how things are in each club - The big advantage with the south road in Spalding is they do group training in the week so you can get a good chuck in for very little expense. Another factor to consider with the club you join Mav is with regards to you working on a Friday night if you were to race you would not only need to get your birds to marking but also some representative there as some clubs can be funny about leaving birds there etc - This should be considered as to which club is most willing to accomodate your circumstances.
  5. Just a quick note to encourage all members now to save any important Private messages they may have stored. This is vitally important if you have something important saved that it is put into a word document or equvilant as soon as possible.

  16. It depends on the club Mav, if your meaning what i think you are - You can send them just as trainers providing the club permits it - Around our way though you tend to pay the same - Would be much easier for you to join the club though as for what you pay you will get the chance to clock and also other little extras such as distances etc. As well as that you would have to be a member of the RPRA to send trainers regardless so joining a club is defo the easiest way. If your along the other meaning and that is just to enjoy the birds and relax whilst waiting etc on a race day .... Yeah defo, nothing can beat sitting in the garden on a nice day with some beers and friends around to watch the birds also.

    rats in the sky

Same opinion as 90% of the population - wont ever change - Dont think they all realise if it werent for Racing Pigeons we would all be speaking German - So think we all owe everything to them Athletes of the Sky!
  21. Well im not promoting illegal activity that again puts pigeon fanciers in a more negative light than we already are - If we want anything to get done or protection restrictions lifting bragging about shooting birds of prey or how to kill them isnt really going to get us much backing. Whilst they are protected it really doesnt matter how many dozens you have killed there is still thousand upon thousand about - so what is the better method - having there protetion lifted or killing the odd 10 or so every so often which really isnt a drop in the ocean.
  22. Well its Legal for one and since im not interested in the other methods personally it will have to do
  23. Its my personal view that whatever Pigeon fanciers do or attempt to do wont be enough as quite simply we cannot unite as a unit without internal problems - Has been tried many times over various issues and with the best intentions just doesnt get off the ground. Brian suggested earlier a very valid method of making our voice heard and that is every club secretary in the land when sent correspondence to have a petition form included that members can sign and then it can be sent back to the region secretaries with the union fees for the year - No need to just have fanciers sign it but also others within the enviroment such as family to random people in the pub - Quick way to get a large petiton signed with tens of thousands of signatures - This may also appease people who feel the RPRA are not doing enough over this issue. If doing a documentry would be best to find a keen film student who could also use it as a project assignment.
