    BAD NEWS TODAY

well has i only keep a small team of pigeons four pair of stock and race only eight cocks and breed around twenty young birds a season, and always around the top come end of season over 60 prize cards won i will keep my rubbish . yes i go for quality then quantity ,and all my stock raced in my loft , i dont buy pigeons i breed my own, and have done for twenty years yes if they dont win they go . tell that to young novice dylan lynn who has won four first this season after i lent him mystock birds free only ten years old racing against blokes with fifty years in the sport ,against his eight w-hood cocks each week and he only lost one pigeon so as you can see i must keep rubbish

think you will have to check with defra on that one ,will depend where the birds are and where there going ,and you stick to the bio security measures and have them in place for the arrival of the new birds .if there in the restricted zone i believe the birds will not be allowed to move .

i would lock it in a box ,and every time you go in the loft pick the pigeon out the box and hold him ,reassure the pigeon you mean it no harm, and it may come round to your way of thinking. how anyone can look at a picture of a pigeon and say get rid is beyound me ,the pigeon tells you nothing ,only the basket or its young ones can tell you if its a good one or not, not the bird or piece of paper . i have seen many great birds all come in different colours and sizes big ones tiny ones calm ones and crazy ones all where winners . but ive never looked at a picture and determined it was rubbish . give the bird a chance like you say its been three months before the pigeons seen you ,spend time with them also it may calm down when you pair it up. the price of the bird also gaurentees you nothing if it was £1.00 or£1000 rome wasnt built in a day

  10. i was always brought up in the thinking any bird that cannot moult out could have a problem,i personally would cull any bird in my loft struggling to moult out. plenty of good food plenty of rest good regular baths and away the go ;D
  11. has dales racers are been sold the best person to ask maybe joe murphy ,for which birds have the best performances against the stock birds been sold .you only have to look at the lofts some of the birds have come from into dales lofts you can be assured they came from strong performance birds not bits of paper.
  12. maybe you should have collected the lapwings ,taken pictures sent them to your local newspaper has theres been a drive over the last few years to help the dwindling lapwing numbers also send them to the rspb and ask them for a answer
  13. i find it strange but not unrealistic for a peregrine to kill for sport to brush up on technics ,as i have witnessed sparrowhawks do this ,normally a peregrine will kill the bird and eat it ,but its common for them to make a cache normally when breeding ,maybe the peregrine may have seen these has a threat to its terrortory , nothing suprises me with nature sometimes there not always a answer its like a fox when it enters a chicken hut why does it kill them all
  14. totally agree if purchased get your cash back .if not put it in the bin
  15. i would agree dale always purchased the best distance birds from around the british isles ,never afraid to put his hand in his pocket ,but theres never a guarentee but your right if you want the blood to help improve your distance birds im sure these are the ones ,im sure plenty of fanciers would like to have dales record of success hes had over the years ,
  16. what i cannot understand everyone as a stock loft ,they keep buying pigeons in every year because there the bees knees ,do they kill off all there old stock birds or sell them on as excellent breeders of winners. people are obsessed with pedigrees ,i only keep four pair of stock yet they had to win and breed winners to get into the stock loft flying at my lofts , i must admit i dont buy pigeons then i dont sell them . if there not good enough for me there not good enough for you. but then again if i bought a pigeon for a thousand pounds and it bred rubbish would i kill it or sell it on claiming every win in my lofts where from this pigeon. ;D sadly i see this far to often ,would i sell me stock birds that has taken twenty years of breeding and racing them ,your joking six lottery numbers couldnt buy my life times work.to me there the best birds in the world to others there crap but thats life . if i bought a bird for a large amount of money i would want dna tests to prove it was from them their champions not a piece of paper saying it was ;D ;D
  17. i never use deep littler, i like to clean me lofts everyday ,helps me relax when i get home from work ,also makes the birds used to me lifting floor grills banging about etc as they watch in amusement. would you eat a meal in restraunt that never cleaned the plates and cups ;D yes i know some people are very successful flying to deep litter but its not for me .
  18. you got it brian, personely i have only hunted rabbits many years ago,im not into hunting i believe everything has a right to life, the times i have been asked to move feral pigeons from football clubs to prisons schools by the council is unreal but its not for me ,i love to fly my birds for pleasure and education not hunting .any real falconer would never let their birds kill feral pigeons or racing pigeons ,yes you will always get a idiot ,same as some shooters only shoot the game not anything that moves . then its same in the pigeon game ,i have a school behind my house that now has around 100 pigeons sat on the roof because i believe the local deadhead has moved taken his loft and just left all the pigeons to fend for themselfs ,i also believe with the intention of stopping my birds winning . my loft has come under attack this year from sparrowhawks but ive never seen them attack the ones on the school.

cow lick Block was developed in response to the needs of the livestock farmer. Extra high levels of selenium and cobalt help combat the country's widespread deficiency in these essential trace elements. Selenium is required for healthy muscles. Cattle Block also contains additional copper.
