  3. whilst people buy bits of paper this will always go on ,its like people breeding pigeons over here with belgium and dutch rings on ,saying it was bred in the loft of so so champion this has gone on for years . just ask around the stalls at blackpool how many pedigrees are stolen each year ,still cheaper then buying the bird and theres always someone willing to buy what evers offered off certain champions . ask yourself this i have four pairs of stock birds all flown all won several races all breeding winners for myself and others . am i going to sell them eeeerrrrrrrr nooooooooo anyone can say their pigeons have bred winners yet people buy them. would you sell birds breeding winners ,if these birds where that good there fellow club members would be buying them . you can bet if this person had one pedigree van winner and won a race to sell them pigeons every pigeon in the loft would be from that pigeon for sale at some nice price except the pigeon its self unless for a large amount . look around how many pigeons are for sale hundreds all breeding winners from £25.00 to thousands . all off champions
  4. paul its called a free country, this is where those important pieces of paper come into play called pedigrees.i always ask myself where do they get there prices for the birds there selling . typical stock bird for sale the town hall cock paired to the streeter hen from the magical pair the fielder and the lamp post hen £500.00 or old bob smiths cock no paper work from long line of winners £10.00 now which one would sell personally i have never sold a pigeon in my life ,ive given plenty away . but each to there own i have no problem with anyone selling pigeons or for whatever price they quote ,yes it always amazes me how many birds some keep and sell ,but if i was spending £500 on a pigeon i would want it dna testing to make sure the bird was from the pair i was buying .second i would want to see the place cards it had won (not the pedigree) if it hadnt got any i wouldnt buy it. i always work on if its not good enough for me its no good for you

if theres something wrong put them in the bin ,i dont race a pigeon after two years old if its a good one its in the stock loft if not its in the bin ,i would never keep a pigeon three or four years to show it had potential good birds breed good birds bad birds breed bad birds sick birds breed sick birds i have worked on that basis ,i know you can always get a exception to the rule but each to their own , i find alot of pigeon fanciers cannot cull a pigeon but it costs the same to feed a good one as a bad one .

sadly ive seen this in many lofts pigeons that look like there starving. young birds wanting feeding from anything that moves but seem reluctant to eat for themselfs i would dispose of any bird in my loft like that. i think any bird constantly squeeking is showing signs of something missing. cull hard and the best times in the nest. this tells you if there missing something or there not growing right .
