maybe the webmaster should display these people with more then one name ,things like this should be stamped out ,seems everyone was shouting about fraudsters not so long ago ,i say name them ,is this a way of people backing there selfs up if when questions get asked they dont like by pretending to befriends backing up there lies. great if your selling pigeons and need a supporter. if you could vote to make a change it would be illegal
-
yes agreed would look great telling intrested parties how much to set up in this sport . maybe start the season at our clubs agm meeting better fighting then a mike tyson fight ,then i am sure we could find a couple of idiots to star in the show on thoughts how to sort problems out like ets hawks flying routes liberations bird flu mad cows disease blue tongue you name it would be great viewing . bring it on ;D ;D

sky is rubbish just full of old repeats, look at the sport you think you got the package then charge you etc. maybe they could do another hatchet job like the million dollar race and make us look right fools hold on i have not fed the kids for six months to enter a pigeon race, but found it easier this way keeps the kids fitter ,but i just entered me bird in the race at the cost of six grand no thanks

homer said dont really have a problem with people making money from selling birds, its just not my style. after all this is a "HOBBY" to most of us. to me a pigeon will always be worth roughly 1 bag of corn ie. a tenner. bang on homer but sadly is it a hobby or a business. pigeons are easy to breed they cost nothing to raise ,where people get the prices for a bag of feathers is beyound me . look at all these fancy auctions of late birds selling for thousands ,now have they been purchased to improve there loft performances,or have they been bought to make money without testing the young . dean pallat purchased all staff van reets pigeons for a large amount ,deans racing record there for all to see outstanding performances, sells his young birds for £100 each wanting some return for outlay of original cost .no complaints here. now landing shy buys two pairs off dean pallat birds dosnt race just sells birds on the back of deans performances .direct pallat birds £60.00 each. now landing shy is on a winner ,is he bothered if the purchaser wins with them no,will he sell pigeons off them next season yes. will he lower the price no,if he sold one which won would he use that persons performance to sell more yes. beware theres loads of sharks in that there pond

solo i have seen this so many times ,when you let people know what you got you run the risk of a scum bag calling ,if you got it someone wants it (for free).

duncan i have known pigeon men have write ups done on them ,a couple of weeks later there birds have gone missing for two minutes of fame ,i for one would not put my name and address up due to the fact i have thousands of pounds worth of birds .i have been asked to have a article done on my pigeons before i have always declined .yes the majority of pigeonmen are honest people but you will always get a scum bag in all walks of life, as for using your details in fraud i dont think there after your loft number. i have never sold a pigeon in my life ,i am more then happy with my birds i dont buy pigeons if they win they win if im bottom of the sheet so what its a hobby people chasing rainbows never get there ,yes theres some great sellers of honest pigeons ,but you rarely see such adverts as pigeons for sale total rubbish i cannot get them to win £100 each . as i have stated before no one forces people to buy pigeons ,i have no problems with anyone selling pigeons ,yes i understand people wanting verification as to some claims not a problem with that. the trouble is many people spend big monies on pigeons they breed nothing and want to reclaim money back from these ,why do they sell them because they know someone will buy them . i always state if its not good enough for me its no good for you dont buy them
-
agree albear ,but then the seller will always state breeds winners ,then theres the security side of things ,placing names and addresses is not a good idea in todays world of fraud also for the unwanted attention there lofts might gain when advertising birds of top quality ,

carl this happened to me many years ago when they turned a wild field over to make a playing field for us kids ,all our gardens became infested with rats we were killing rats for fun shooting them flame thrower you name it we did it ,our garden had many beeding plants we would watch them carrying their bedding round the garden ,they then enterd the loft killing many birds in the end the loft had to come down sadest day of me life as a kid.as for carrying anything into the loft ,try having a pair of shoes trainers etc you can keep for just inside the loft then change on leaving loft that way you would be sure not to carry anything into the loft. carl if you have birds on allotment why not try using a natural rat killer like placing a owl box on your allotments to encourage owls to take up home ,you might be lucky and get a pair of tawny owl move in ,these will help keep down vermin around the lofts for you . all you can do is keep trying to kill them, but as we found out its nearly impossible no matter when you kill one along comes another

im sure the shu -whu nihu the rpra and others could raise money for this cause charity starts at home ,instead of giving thousands away each year .

http://www.save-songbirds.co.uk/ this is the group all pigeon unions should be backing make this our charity push it into the public demaine, gamekeepers the rspb will not take these people serious and joe public will back the rspb they will throw at them all raptors killed by gamekeepers . the way forward is to make the public aware through education of the destruction to our song birds by the sparrowhawks and peregrines . like the latest news golden eagle killed by poision, now who they getting at with that one. yes ive had raptors for years and studied them carefully ,but i also know the decline in our song birds and the damage they cause to pigeons . as for the argument about pigeons the public are not intrested there flying rats so we are on a none starter there. ive also read about firing rockets before a liberation only problem with that is it will become like calling your birds in for tea by the peregrines . the rspb love these raptors there great money spinners for them, its like these centres that rescue birds of prey its easy money from joe public do they do it for the love of the birds my opinion no ,it beats working charging people to watch you fly a couple of birds then theres sponsor a bird then they breed and sell them inexperienced people buy them then lose them. save our song birds is the answer to skin this cat ,take out adverts in local and national papers showing the destruction there doing put pictures of pigeons in the picture then the public will become aware of whats happening get the rspb to reply to the adverts taken out onfacts like why will sparrowhawks kill over a million song birds and valuable racing pigeons a year can we sustain such a loss of wildlife .
-
thats why people buy from these big names to make money on the back of there performances, not to improve there own team but to sell young birds at fancy prices .look at the sales this last weekend how many buyers will be selling youngsters from these come the new year plenty.
-
jimmy these are the things the pigeon sport should be supporting ,yes the idea sounds good ,but what if birds where lost without a hawk attack the rspb would have a field day .the game to play is make the public aware of the loss of the song birds through sparrowhawks etc with the support of all pigeon unions as sponsors. the trouble is what ever the rspb say in the publics mind there correct. thats why they show all these wildlife programmes on the bbc properganda machine. like sparrowhawks help keep down blue tit numbers etc . you see then against us is the loss of thousands of pigeons when racing ,plus the feral population .if all is going wrong im sure they will rerun the million dollar race that showed the sport in a great light .
-
http://www.save-songbirds.co.uk/ this is the way to help solve the problem with peregrines etc ,no one will listern to pigeonmen moaning about the loss of a pigeon to hawks ,when they see towns full of feral pigeons making a mess . the publics opinion is there all flying rats ,but they all like little robin red breast.have a look some good reading

great site and pics ben

the trouble is these belgium dutch fanciers are talked about like there gods in pigeon racing .so their pigeons become the latest craze selling for big money ,everyone thinks these pigeons are better then the ones over here and will improve there lofts performance . why do some people shout about these pigeons ,because they got them and see it as a quick money earner . you see people in the bhw selling pigeons at £50.00 plus after winning the young bird averages in there clubs five members sending 250 birds per week are they good pigeons are they worth £50.00 each my advice next time you look at a bird for sale ,ask what the birds won against what birdage ask what the parents have won .if they say nothing its a stock bird but breeds winners dont buy it. as for these belgium and dutch birds for sale constantly over here its simple no one wants them in there own country .
-
agree albear unless its the clubs breeder buyer race ,ive seen silly monies spent on birds .
