all these breed and release systems in my opinion DO NOT WORK there no natural food or not enough to go around ,red kites are scavangers roaming around looking for road kill but theres not enough for sustaining numbers . there is a programme of breed and release of red kites not ten miles from my home they also breed and release sparrow hawks ,but what they dont tell you is sure there breeding but there also sustaining them through returning each day for food other wise the red kite could not survive without been fed by man

well if it was a legal breed and release system ,im sure people would know .so i would take it is a illegal breed and release by some idiot .

well said theres too many birds sent that never should be .if you dont breed them you cannot lose them .

having given me old tiled loft away tiles straight onto batons then peg board worked a treat.

im not sure if you are saying the race was from only three miles of 400 pigeons ,yes ive seen very big losses occur when birds have been released in big numbers so near to lofts , i think they just get there heads down and move with lofts sustaining very big losses ,this happened a few years ago when the race was cancelled and the birds where brought back to the fed headquaters people didnt go to collect their birds telling them just lib them ,luckily i went to collect my birds the rest where libed never to be seen again .,some of these lofts where under a mile from the headquaters. has for people breeding more youngsters each to there own personally i like twenty young birds no more ,some i know breed 100 youngsters some more ,but i like to have what i can look after , red cheqhen dehydration ,i agree totally with this same with old birds im sure if more fanciers took this into account they could cut there losses to a minimum , prevention better then a cure ,i believe this is the most important thing in my loft ,how many times do you here it said hes never watered them birds ,straight to the drinkers .

like i said i dont know the reason why,they have decided to not let new members join sounds like to me ,if im not flying in the club no ones flying in it , ,and i thought this sport needed has many new members as possible . surley they have given you a reason why they want to close the club, and will not let you into there club.

sadly wings mate ,looks like they will close the club and leave you out to dry ,too much of this goes on mate ,been there got the t-shirt , i dont know the reason for whats gone on in your club , but will they not let you into there club ,

what a load of crap ,when you mention merging small clubs of five or six members ,years ago i flew in a club of over thirty members ,who all left and formed their own club ,leaving around six members ,the members left could not get any new members ,would the new club let in any of the six remaining NO CHANCE , why i wonder ,now i have to travel miles to basket my birds in a very good strong club of thirty members ,and i can tell you many many fanciers get left in this postion in small clubs,where the majority form new clubs and close down the remaining clubs has for people breeding to many pigeons for one who openly sells pigeons i find that a remarkable statement to make .
