  4. I would have kept my mouth shut if I were him and stopped up with a shotgun waitin 4 them to return, as already mentioned all publicity is good.
  5. A good bit of publicity, well done to the 2 fanciers concerned. :o
  6. All roads lead to Rome mate, my preference is giving the yearlings a short 5 miler Thursday night back to the hens,(allow contact for about 3 minutes) I then just show the bowl on Friday. I aint saying this is the best way but do know of some good fanciers that do this, the yearlings are calmer in race basket on Friday. :)
  7. I raced in same club as Walters & Broadhurst, damn good pigeon flyers with damn good pigeons, some of the best wildersmeersch I have descend from their birds, but lets not forget with a couple of mile radius of these lived other great wildy flyers, ie Cliff & Greta Jones, George & Carl Evans, Tony Mcdonough, Jimmy Dutton and the man who everyone seems to forget Frankie Faulkner. The wildys around these parts dominated the sprint races during the 80's and 90's however the name aint fashionable no more so you dont hear as much of them but my team is around 60% wildy blood and I am sure a lot more around me still have these great bloodlines but never say. I think Bill Grinsell was the man that first introduced these great birds into the UK in around 1978, I do stand to be corrected on this as I was not about at the time, only what club members have told me. ;)
  8. Ronnie Williamson, who else has one more first prizes against massive birdage than this guy, quite simply no one. Top results and if he was dutch/belgium/german etc then we would be banging his door down to buy off him. :)
  9. Been on the Steam railway there mate, think it runs through Kensey Valley, I liked it around there. ;)
  10. Voted mate, hope she win's, I think there all winners anyway. :)
  11. Get some 3 inch L brackets mate and go round and attach the roof to the front , back, sides, mate. As you say it gets windy were you are it will help keep roof were it should be, hope this makes sense. Were about in Cornwall are you mate I love the place. ;)
  12. It was called a multi gum gun. you throwed your rubber in it, pulled down the arm ( like the old bandits), the thimble with rubber inside then dropped into the t3 bucket were you would simply clock the bird, these cost about 150 quid but never took off, i do know to a bloke with one. ;)
  13. Its true, about 3 years ago I seen Lord Lucan riding Shergar being chased by one of these cats. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

  22. Wall, Lunt & Green for me, devastating results. :)
  23. I went to a sale held in winter gardens 10 oclock Saturday morning the fancier who lives by me and a very good flier had 19 lots for sale included in them were about 7/8 direct Frans De Mayers, I went to buy a cock imagine how happy I was to get him for £50, a lot of them unsold, the highest priced bird was £110. I was amazed these Frans De meyers birds fetched 1000's at a sale held 2 months ago at Telford. I actually felt sorry for the guy has he his agenuine bloke with results to back up his claims yet these birds fetched pennies, I bet he struggled to cover the advertising costs in the homing world.
