  1. BrianP - There was a chap in Moray who has lost some Belge birds due to a wet box which fell apart in the Amtrak depot in Aberdeen 01- 3180554,03-3060446,03-6231559, also NL02-2373932 just in case they are flying about up North
  2. Sorry to hear that but family comes first
  3. www.primrose-london.co.uk - scatter gun £9.95 ex batteries
  4. It would be nice if the organisations were to put a few "kudos" into a fund to make the stray centres available to all after all stray pigeons especially young ones don't care who has or where they are registered, they are lost and wish to get home what has happened to "Pigeon Spirit." A few centres up and down the country would be worth their weight in gold and if provided for free at the moment what could be achieved with a few "quid" thrown in.
  5. Does it surprise you, they have been abusing us for years
  6. Will you deduct Chrissy's breakfast from the bill (ha ha) It is great that helping fellow fanciers puts all pigeon politics to shame it's what fanciers do best or should do helping each other. Well done and all the best to Tammy & Chrissy. Now that Billy is puting weight back and on the mend he will helping you lug all that equipment about - regards also to Billy
  7. What about the two SPDS depots in England (leeds & Manchester) Coopers it seems were an independent satellite of Amtrak - maybe they will take over most of the routes and use Amtrak depots wherever possible or a tie up with SPDS - would make sense!
  8. That's ok Rose if you are within striking distance what if you are North of the Border and have birds reported down South by an non fancier and no means of collecting it. The RPRA will have to call an extraordinay meeting to recind the rule stating contact and collect within the stated time or fanciers will have to really show their mettle by helping each other out but birds could be on the move for days (hate to say weeks)
  9. Bluepiedcock's uncle was the reason I am back in the sport he persuaded me to start up again after a long absence, our club has potentionally lost including "Hammy" (Alexandria RPC) 5 members who for one reason or another have decided to give up the sport. I would love to see kids getting involved in the sport I know it's difficult with computor games and all sorts of things that have come our way in this so called progressive age but I think the RPRA,SHU,WHU and the Irish associations should be going round the schools with birds and giving a lecture to kids about the joy of pigeon the highs of breeding your first younster waiting for its return and the ultimate of seeing your bird home from France it's one of the greatest feelings I have experienced never one anything but what a high. It is no use puting adverts in the papers grassroots (schools) are where the potential fanciers of tomorrow are "Lets capture THEM" sorry to bore you on a bank holiday it's pouring down here so i am away out to the birds.
  10. What will happen to all birds purchased at auction to go North (including England & Scotland) if Amtrak has really gone down the shute will you be able to get your money back as most say Amtrak delivery. I will say, the chap who delivers to the Dumbarton area is great will give you a ring (10mins away) or leave a note (Birds at loft) you can't ask for more than that.
  11. Our club got a grant for t3 clocks they had originally inquired about restoration of the club house and were told this was not allowed
  12. Mobile phone masts are going up all over the place - people power in some cases have had them removed or suspended. If they are perceived to be harmfull to humans what kind of effect do they have on pigeons. Some 30 years ago the young bird losses were nothing to the losses today but I didn't have a mobile phone neither did millions of others.
  13. Spds now have depots in Leeds and Manchester for next day deliery North. If AM could get them to the depots then SPDS could deliver North. SPDS 01355 234807
