  1. good news.......they're alot tougher than you think. I've seen some birds recover from horrific injuries in the past
  2. remember damp = cocci :-)
  3. Jimmy White recently bought a pair off birds of me and used Pigeon Tracker..... I rang jamie several times to see where he was and what time he would be uplifting the birds, and found him to be a very decent bloke. He called me in plenty of time to get home rather than waiting around all day - excelent service - good value - I shal use them as and when I need to. These valley boys will bend over backwards to get those birds to you....no problem
  4. Yes mate...you can never have enough hens!!!! I find them much more versitile, for floaters, and feeders in the YB section. Thats why I wouldn't mind swapping for 2 hens! cheers
  5. As you know I've been thinning a few stock out as I do every year, and have two cracking Pure White Logun 06 Cocks left to go that I had previouly overlooked They are £25 each plus carriage. Failing that - I would do prefer to do a straight swap with them for 2 pure white logun or Rapido hens interested?.....let me know cheers
  6. They look boby dazzlers mate.........if you are a cock short; I may be able to sort you out with one
  7. I understood that the old logun strain were an long distance specialist, and were founded in Scotland......
  8. Thanks Merlin - this will be ladies first litter. She is 3.5 now and as consistantly proved herself in the field over the last 3 seasons. For me to breed a lurcher it has to be outstanding, and prove itself over a period of time. Both these dogs have'proven form', and Im looking forward to carrying the progeny on. Unfortunately far too may puppy peddlers breed willy-nilly and breed sub-standard dogs which invariably end up in the rescue centres.
  9. many thanks...............they certainly do the job for me. The brindle has a mix of bull collie kerry blue terrier and grey in her, and I really wanted all those qualities with a longer leg, as she does occasinally tend to oveshoot when coursing ( hence the grey). Granted certain element will be diluted, but the track dog is an excelent gratfer so a good allround dog should be produce. - I shall keep a dog an 'girl' back for myself.
  10. Anyday now I am due to line my Minshaw Lurcher 'Lady' with my ex track greyhound - Pedigree name 'Hey Porter' Dam - 23"tts - working night and day and taking all legal quarry including larger quarry before the ban. Sire - 'Hey Porter' 28"tts sired by the lengenary 'Larkhill Jo' and mothered by pony vixen - again working day and night. (to view his pedigree form and race history go to www.greyhound-data.com and search Hey Porter - its all on there) This is a matched breeding, and these pups will make fine coursing dogs, with excelent temperaments ....and would be well suited to house or kennel life I have two small kids age 3 and 4 who ragg them about all day without a whimper....but when its time to go to work............it all changes Both parents are owned and worked by me. If everything goes to plan and the mating is succesfull, the pups should be ready in about 17 weeks. Anyone interested in a pup or needs any further info, please post a reply or pm me...... Here a few photos of the happy couple!
  11. Thanks to all those who have pm'd me. The window of opportunity is now closed! Those to whom I have responded by pm.......you will be sorted. 'message for Bazz'....please confirm you wish to proceed. Thanks one and all TWRM
  12. aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhh!!!!.......cant say Im suprised! cheers.. ....now back to the birds!
  13. is there something about Amtrak I dint know about?......its been a while since I've had any dealings with them
  14. Just having a clear out ofthe stock loft and have a few pairs left for sale. they are mainly 06 birds...some are rrpa rung, some are not. Nice clean birds - £25.00 each plus delivery by an alternate pigeon courier http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/m-1219929388/ (to be arranged by buyer) For further info please pm. Many Thanks
  15. Yep......its a tricky one.... Control is gained by food....but its hard to find a happy medium... Too much food..and they sit out for hours....Too little food and they on th roof and back in for a feed in seconds I had the sae eproblem but hacve sorted it now.... If you let the problem persist it will be habbit they'll never get out of. 1. start for scratch....no food for one day, then light feed on the seond day.. 3 day basket them all and take the away from the loft for a day..... t-time let them out hungry, and they will be hungry and 'loft pround' 2. day 3......... fill your hopper, lets say 20 handfulls of corn 3. feed the Ybs in the morning....as soon as one goes for drink...take the food away 4. measure how many handfulls of corn you've got left... subtract that from the original 20, and what ever is left 'should' be the correct amount of food yor birds will need a day. 5. Day 3....... put half the amount of food you have acertained is the correct amount for your birds in the hopper........let the birds see you put it down..when they start to come down....shoo them out for a fly....... the hungrier one will be the first in....................... obviously some of the birds will miss out on a feed, and will be dam sure they are in first next time out. 6. slowly but surely they will realise that fly = food.... could take you a week to get them into the routine...but constisencey is the key... dont leave the grub in, and do everything the same everyday...........
  16. this will be my first year racing................... Already I have heard several sarcy comments made about me by some of the bitter and twisted old men that frequent the local club house..... What amazes me is they voted me in...have never met me.......then bad mouth me. In the one breath they complain that no one wants to join the clubs.................. is there any wonder? They are worse than freaking women.............. Personally Im not too fussed about 'inner politics' and sour comments by the jealous old men ....... and to be honest, the ony thing I worry about is predation by cats and hawks........... I love my birds....... not the club house or Sam Smiths.... Preparations are going well and the youngs uns are almost ready to go down the road............I really hope it comes together........then they'll have something to really moan about........ I quite enjoy being the 'Lone Ranger' ;D .....................but thats life
  17. Roughly 4 years old........ Perhaps we worked the little fella too hard............. but he always came home............ what a pigeon..... :'( Ted (Bewted)......... I think I showed you him when you came to mine last year
  18. Yes he sure does................ and if this year young ones make half the bird he was...... then I will be extremely happy
  19. My favourite bird known as 'Old Faithfull' died this morning..... he'd notched up well over 60 release cemeronies throughout Lincolnshire for us over the last 4 years....... Sounds daft but we'll miss that bird, he was boss of the loft, and was always reliable......... and 60 releases in a 70 mile radius of our lofts is some going........... We think he had a a heart attack as there were visble signs of ailment...he was in peak condition, feeding his young-uns one minute....then flat on his back the next.......shame really. I've lost alot of pigeons over the years....but you always get one that leaves a special mark on you... here he is in a couple of photographs we had done for a press releases in the local paper a couple of years ago.
  20. Bobby Dazzlers them matey..................... nice immaculate set up to!..hop they race well for you
  21. :D :D :D ;D
  22. The compostion and muscle ratio of that dog is incredible................... and an credit to you sammy
  23. the *expletive that was removed* was the word for a female dog.................. just ibncase anyone thought I was using vulgar language
  24. I like them with a bit more fire in their bellys!........... makes them better at jumping to! I am planning on lining the brindle *expletive removed* with a proven first cross Saluki x greyhound stud later on in the year................... they will make absolutely storming working dogs ;)
