I agree, wild birds build up fat to prepare them for the winter to them warm and the bad days where they are unable to feed. Humans and most other species have the same inbuilt mechanism but due to us and the birds having everyday access to food and sadly too much for most we need to control it. I think it funny that we all worry about having our birds in tip top condition and all the problems with over loading their organs and fasting yet very few worry about our own or families diet ;D ;D ;D

I give them it in their drinkers 2-3 times a week, 5ml to 1ltr of water

I gave him and some others to a fancier in the Edinburgh Premier club, he decided to pack in as vandals were wrecking his lofts in the compound where he kept them, the man was in tears when he was parting with his birds. I got all my birds back and a few others that were bred for him from good fliers in the Edinburgh Premier club. I will check with him and see what he had him paired to and get back to you

I will get pics tomorrow, my husband buys it in 8x4 sheets and cuts it to size, also he got a few sheets of 1" x 1+1/2" from Valiant when he dismantled his dog run, it works brilliantly as there is no build up around the nests as the Yb's poo just falls straight through

I would find it funnier if it raggled the owner not the poor dog:-/

We use 1" weld mesh cut to size as I hate those plastic ones as they are hard to clean and crack very easily :-/
