the one big problem dell with luxemberg is you have the ardennes mountain range right in front of them just go and look on google earth

had the same thing happen to me a number of years ago was training the young birds from clovenfords on the top of the hill had just liberated the young birds next thing turned round and here is 2 low flying jets coming down the valley now these two jets had to take avoiding action to miss ploughing into my batch of young birds the result was lost half the young bird team that day I dont know if some of you will remember when a jet crashed at lauder I believe that jet came down as it possibly ran into a batch of pigeons that day watched it many times when you have liberated pigeons up the borders next thing a low flying jet passes in front of them the pigeons will not fly through the turbulent air left behind till the air settles back down

dell we all know action is needed but pigeon men are all talk no action they always want someone else to do it for them the problem is easy resolved in the winter but will it happen NO

I would just like to thank all the fanciers that donated pigeons to our sale also the fanciers who managed to attend and bought pigeons sale was a success making over £1600 thankyou all

dell midland were 60ml north of me solway was about 27ml south both raymond and myself agreed on liberations he went at the same time as myself there leading pigeons were doing 1198ypm so what happened to ours is a mystery that we will never know its happened in the past with other organisation and no doubt it will happen again to someone else what is done is done its unfortunate for the birds I always try and do the right thing as regards the pigeons but we just have to move on I think the losses this year have been terrible all over and we all know what the biggest problem is but we just carry on

del there was hardly any wind that day birds should have done it at most in 6hrs so there was still plenty of time for birds to be home if it had turned out a good race it would have been the right decision look what happened to lanarkshire on the sunday ok you got birds on the day but not many so what about solway and midland were they to late in liberating aswell the solway were timing pigeons in from just after 16.30pm another 1hr or so we should have been timing into midlothian so I dont think my decision was wrong

the forecast was the weather was to clear by 11.00am which it did if it had not cleared by 12.00 the birds were getting held over but just as brian said your dammed if you do and dammed if you dont

I can remember no that long ago when we joint convoyed with almond valley to maidstone and it took 3 days just to get 30 birds home in our fed can you remember that tiger probably not ??

so your saying solway midland and myself got it wrong what happened to use at consett when yous got a bad race off course I forgot your that much of an expert

I was down with birds travelled up m6 more or less at the back of the birds and never hit any rain or bad weather on way home and neither did solway midland lib 60mls north of us and got the same

just what I said to you that they had probably been chased by percie over to the east into the bad weather but where are the rest not many turning up
