Well done Danny Mitchell with his Irish imports and John Short with his English imports,these two lads have had a great season ,ending with taking the first five positions in the west section of the young bird national from Peterborough,another of the irish imports won the race from Otterburn with the Clarkston club in the Lanarkshire fed at the weekend for Danny. Well done lads.

Young bird dropped in yesterday,just as i was going to collect the club strays,Larkhall lads were away,so took phone number of wing and kept ringing all day and night and today,bird is Su16l 8098,bird released this morning but back in,wing stamp-Larkhall,any help from Larkhall.

Danny Mitchell and John Short from Clarkston club have between them 16 birds away to this race,both lofts have been in good form recently,so best of luck lads.

Had two birds return last Sunday,one from Saturdays race and one,a white hen with half a tail missing,return from the week before,since when she will not come out with the rest of the birds,she just walks out round about the garden,she flew up to the roof once when the local sparrowhawk came past,but since then she just walks about,I inspected her everything seems ok,I think she is traumitised and only time will be the healer,if only they could talk.

Lanarkshire fed marking delayed 24 hours.

Dropped six last week at slaughterburn and seven this week at sedgefield, one returned on Sunday plus one from previous week,one of the lads was talking to transporter driver,said weather was fine,just a light shower on road home.I only keep a small team and between losing them from carnwath in training and losing them racing ,like some of the others, will have to think about next year.

Lanarkshire fed liberated 5,500 birds at Kelso at 0830 in WSW wind.
