  2. It doesnae seem to be working on the rodent front here derek .Got a moose oan the loose.Caught one in the hut on Wednesday but the other yins a tricky customer The buggers been taunting me the last couple of days .Hoping this'll be its last night
  3. The News of the World won't be the only paper in trouble with boycotting readers and shut downs. Ma pictures gonna be in the Homing World in the next week or two
  4. Of course you could improve you stock if you brought something in off the top Barcelona performers .You could also improve your stock bringing in birds from a top Scottish,English,Irish,Welsh loft etc. To tell the truth I dinnae really believe in such a thing as a "Scottish pigeon" A lot of these "Scottish" pigeons that have been winning for generations in this country originate from birds introduced from Belgium,Holland etc. The one that springs to mind as thee "Scottish" family is the Kirkpatricks
  5. Well it attracts the ones that beat the most pigeons
  6. Is it the mealy William??
  7. Takes some doing-top class pigeons!!! One of the best ever Rennes pigeons in my section has to be "Freckles" 12th,7th and 18th Open before she was killed by a hawk in Robert Cormack's back garden
  8. Some toppers Good weather=good weekends racing

  10. :emoticon-0136-giggle: Aye theres plenty still going on-a few legends were made 2001-2010.A few more will be made 2011-2020 Even on Saturday-The SNFC spawned a yearling double Section Winner

  12. I like to hear it all fi the old hands Not many of them left now-a lot of the History and stories will die wi them Cannae see Scottish national racing reaching those heights again anytime soon but we'll have to make do with whit we've got
  13. I know Jock & Hughie Reid had a hen that scored 5 years in a row from Rennes but that was before the Gold Award was aboot
  14. Yer probably right bigda.I'll make the final decision next Wednesday though
  15. A wee bit off topic but how many Gold Award winners do yous know of that were clocked 5 times from the Kings Cup?? Am I right in saying Davy Elliot had one??
  16. Aye you could be right Martin. To look at him round the loft and in the hand I consider pooling him every race he goes to .Best hes managed though is a 2nd Club Otterburn.Think I've learnt a bit more about how to handle him though. Although hes had 11 races hes only had 3 tosses all year.Hes on open loft and the only time hes inside is when hes on his nest he must fly an Otterburn race every day Lookin to next year with him I'll either keep him in more or race him less and get him down for the Gold Cup as you say.
  17. Got 5 I'm tryin to get right for it. They've been left to the open loft since Eastbourne.Took 3 of them to Coldstream Monday,Tuesday the other 2 joined them there today. The weathers to be poor at the weekend I think but will try and get another couple of tosses under their belt. A doo I call "the Seagull" is catching my eye so he may end up in the team as well Hes had Coldstream,Coldstream(2),Otterburn,Witton Castle,Ripon,Wakefield,Newark,Leicester,Huntingdon,Eastbourne and Ypres but hes still no came as good as I think he can Dunno whether to put him past til next year or not
  18. Well Done Crombie and Mechan Stevie Dal and his dad the nearly men once more Congratulations to everybody who timed from the furthest race in our programme Think T.Arthur-1st Section D wins a Silver Award

  21. She was a cracker last year!!! I've three hens that were at Coldstream the day.Two of them are yearlings so I'm a wee bit iffy-but you showed it can be done last year.My two year old won the Huntingdon Open race in the club this year, shes off my John Ellis cock so thinking she'll be the boy-we can only try All the best anyway Alan Hope to see yer hen up there again
  22. 2 of them were Alan 1 joined after Slamannan club divided and now racein the West. Its been an ongoing thing for years though.Look at where Mulhern and Ogilvie lie in the fed. I dinnae get too bothered about it mind you.A lot of folk greet aboot Davie Elliot being further East than Avonbrig or Stirling,it wouldnae have mattered much last weekend PS are yous finished old birds for the year or ye gawn to defend the Clermont Crown??
  23. Nah Alan.Avonbrig is one of the few clubs I've heard ae that has members in the East and the West region. There may be more mind you ??
