  4. I've had another rummage and think John Hodgson may have won the South Section 13 times
  5. Aye it's very impressive stuff I'm missing a few pieces of the jigsaw, but think Davie Rose is in the region of 11-13 North Section wins and that John Hodgson will be around the 9-11 mark in the South any further info would be much appreciated
  6. I've been thinking about the old sections in the SNFC - North,South,East and West. Which fanciers have the most section wins within the club? I make it 1. Jim Donaldson 2. Davie Rose 3. John Hodgson Is this correct? A further question - why were the terms 'Section' and 'Region' swapped ?

  11. Just had a wee look on the inflation calculator and the bird that was 10th Open won the equivalent of £11,622 in today's money
  12. The 10th Open winner could have been with the 7th Open?

  14. 6201 birds were liberated at 0550. The winner was clocked in Drem at 1955 on a velocity of 1139ypm - Hodgson's 'Camptown Lassie'

Sorry Andy I should have said the birds were liberated at 7am in a south wind.The winning pigeon was timed a 1603 on a velocity of 1559ypm East section winner 1324 ypm West Section winner 1318 ypm You're right though-it would have been a hell of a wind for them to do 481 mile in 4 hours and 3 minutes

  21. At the time John McLaren was the youngest ever fancier to win the NFC Gold Cup and the only person in history to win the NFC Gold Cup, NFC Old Bird Average and NFC All Race Average in the same season. I don't know if these records still stand, but it took some doing back then
