Do many of the PB members give their pigeons honey in the build up to or on return from the longer races?? If so what type of honey do you find best?? How do you give it to the pigeons and in what dosages?? Cheers Lewis

Not TOTALLY disastrous but theres still a few doos missing.A lot of guys had less than half their doos home last night.I'm sitting with 25/34 as it stands. Was 4th in the club with one of the doos I hope tae get tae Messac-a couple of minutes behind the winner, they were coming well at the start but it dried up with them slowly working in all day.Snuck away with the first hit of the pools though and managed to retain the Avonbrig Knock Out crown after a dramatic final

The first real disastrous race I remember was from Buckingham when I was about 14 or 15.Was told something then that could not be truer or indeed simpler. If its good weather you get good racing,if its bad weather you get bad racing. I only had pigeons at Leicester yesterday with the fed.I was not comfortable sitting outside for the couple of hours when the birds were due so its no surprise a lot of the birds didn't face the fly of 6 or 7 hours. Think the SNFC needs a bit of consistancy with its race programme.Wish racepoints could be settled on and stuck to for a few years instead of the constant chopping and changing the last few years have seen.

22/34 as it stands from Leicester 7am lib with the Northwest fed. They're still working in,hoping to see a few more in the next hour or two.

Should be a stiffer race today methinks.Between 2 and 3 for the birds ??

I'll throw my hat into the ring and say Section D will be won by Mr & Mrs Graham of Avonbridge -
Never given the doos flagyl but have a friend who has.Been told to give them a quarter of the tablet. He gave them a full tablet the first time and didn't think it had a very positive effect on the doos He also said he wouldn't let his doos out for a day after it but again that was perhaps due to the bad experience he had when he gave them the full tablet They were kinnae flying into things etc

Theres some Ivermectin in Eqvalan I'm sure

Its a tad unorthodox to say the least but it apparrently works. Not really for me though.

Apparently the cheapest way tae worm yer doos is to keep the doos locked in,take the drinkers and feed away then don't go back in yer hut for 3 or 4 days Never tried it myself mind you

The tube has units on it an inch apart. Was told to use 1 inch to 4 litres of water. My watering can can hold 8 litres.Usually whisk 2 inches up in a cup with water till its dissolved before diluting it in the watering can.Just give them it for one day. Its sometimes difficult to use products that arnae specifically designed for pigeons but we were recommended it and feel its done the doos no harm at all over the years

Found it to be really good. My dad was recommended it years ago by our local feed stockist and we've used it most seasons since. Most I've used it is twice in one year.Usually 4-6weeks before pairing and occasionally used it during racing, usually in the 2nd last week in May.Personally notice a big difference in the birds after it.Never had droppings tested, before or after treatment. So can't really comment on just how effective it is on internal parasites but you'll not have any lice or crawlies on your birds for a long time after the dosage.
