  1. Not bad at all Kenny, but getting hammered with the sparowhawk just now. It's the same this time every year. I wish the RSPB could get it through their thick heads that the whole country - apart from Shetland - is crawling with them. They said on the BBC site last week that after making a good recovery they are in decline again. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-12634698
  2. Are you Kenny G?

Fifer, Sapper, etc. Can you not find a way of safeguarding the members only part of the site? Something like barring anyone who can' produce their loft number and list of their rings for this year? Any doubts just phone their Fed for conformation of the information.

  5. Hi Pigeon_man, can you give me the email address so that I can ask for a code please?

How long does it take to see the comments you add?

Follow bristolkev link. The RSPB are looking for our help. Everyone should get onto this page and leave some comments. Maybe its a way of letting the public know the truth.
  8. So is there no battery in the base unit? I've been told by one of the Inverness lads that went to the blackpool show that the Unicon man quoted £75:00 to change 2 batteries. That's a lot of dosh for our club. There will be a few quid for postage and insurance on top of that so could take it up to maybe £90:00 for each set and we have 11 and the master. 12 times £90:00 is over a grand and we spent about £600:00 on rings last year. I'm glad I kept my STB.
  9. Thanks DJWa and Davy, looks like the club have a bit breathing time, there's no warnings yet!
  10. I used to live on the South end of Shetland, if the conditions were not perfect, the whole of Sumburgh was crawling with starving doos. We took loads in for feeding and they were every age you could think of. We were always broken hearted when a cracking day came because they took off and we never saw them again. Got me back into racing for three or four years though.
  11. Thanks everybody for your answers, does anybody know how long after the low battery warning we have before it dies? There's no warnings yet but they're four years old now.
  12. Does anybody know if Unicon base units or clocks need batteries changing or how often they need servicing?
  13. Here's another one. The trap looks very simple.
  14. Yer a gent, keep up the good work.
  15. Thanks Tooshy Boy for passing the contact details to Willydoo and Willydoo thanks very much for bringing the birds up from South and telephoning me last night. I spoke to the owner of 3644 so he should have called you by now. Many thanks to both of you! Hawked Again.
  16. I've seen it three times this year, but never before.
  17. Hi Undertaker, I used to fly in your club, is Kenny Gifford still the boss? How about Bob Reeves, is he still flying with you, I was on the same watch as him at the fire station? Can you PM me your telephone number so that I can pass it to the fellow down in Consett and he will be able to sort something out with you. Were you flying when Davy was there, I went down to Edinburgh to see him last year; he managed to get some very good birds for me. Many thanks! Just had a thought, you probably are Bob Reeves!!!!!!!
  18. A fancier from the Consett area called me tonight to find out where the Midlothian Fed was racing from at the weekend and hoping to get his bird down the road on their transporter. I struck lucky with my first phone call and managed to speak to the transporter driver who informed me that they have stopped racing for the year as have the Pentland Hills Fed. So, is there anyone on the Edinburgh area that will be going anywhere near Consett in the near future that could take the bird with them? I can pass on your telephone number so that he can contact you direct. Many thanks in advance; the Geordies helped a lot of us out big time a few weeks ago.
  19. I'm sure Walter Masson will put that in order. He does us all a great service with the lib times, someone beat him to it today though.
  20. Thanks Sapper. That's a pity now I'll have to wait to Tuesdays to find out, by how much Elgin, Buckie, etc hammered us.
  21. Hi Sapper, I asked for the wrong thing. I used to be able to click on Clubs and Feds on the front page I could then click on a club and get their results. When I do this now I am directed to a page saying that all the information gathered over the last 5 years has been saved and there is a link to race results but all I get is a page with birds in show pens at the top?
  22. Thanks Sapper I'll give it a go.
  23. I have followed the link but only got a page showing birds in show pens. Can anyone direct me, please?

  25. The whole Forres club apart from one flew natural this year and everyone did last year and every other year. A Forres young bird topped the Fed last year in the first race from Perth and that was a natural. A good Southerly wind helped though
