  1. If you can post the ring number it will be much easier to trace the owner.
  2. I started typing before your reply was posted, it's good to see you also gave a good answer to the question.
  3. Hi, thanks for reporting the lost pigeon. In answer to your question, NO! We don't kill them if they don't make it home under their own steam. I have a loft half full of injured pigeons that will never race again but they are looked after every bit as well as the ones that are still racing. In my loft, when they can’t race again they are promoted to pet, I now have lots of pets mainly due to the RSPB’s policy of over protection of birds of prey.
  4. What a cracker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You'll be on your way to the tower boy!
  5. Forres Resuly for Perth OB 30 April 2011 Well done to Stewart Taylor, you have a good chance of having the Fed topper this week! 6. Well done Ronnie, I've been looking at other club results and can only see one Forres doo in front of you. Hope your keeping well, Jim
  7. And your first into Buckie, good on yer!
  8. Thanks very much. I topped the fed from Perth 2 years ago with 1 hour 34 mins. I hope Stewart has this time with 1 hour 23 mins. There may well be someone in front of him. What a fast bird!
  9. 78 miles 924 yds for Stewart. I've got 79 miles 987 yds. He's a good half hour in front of me. We cheated and came up the A9 instead of the coast as normal!
  10. First known bird into Inverness at 11:23 Stewart!
  11. Birds into Inverness at 11:47 -11:53ish and 11:58 from Perth.
  12. Thanks DJA, looks like I'll be slapping on the sun tan stuff today.
  13. Thanks Blue Tooner, conditions are perfect in Inverness, anybody know what it's like on the East side?
  14. Never a truer word spoken Delboy, Paul would help anyone out. We race for a very small pool and nomination and just want to give everyone a fair crack of the whip. We must have the biggest club area in the UK, more than 40 miles North to South and 25 miles East to West. A lot of Fed areas will be smaller than our club area I'm sure. We just get a lot of pleasure from flying our birds, winning just an added bonus.
  15. Yer right Rooster, she comes anytime the doos are about. I've even lost birds to her when they are in aviaries; they fly into the loft so fast and in such a panic that I’ve found three with broken necks on the loft floor in the last seven years.
  16. Thanks Davy. If it was only a small window last week you managed to find it. Apart from myself (I lost all the latebreds), all club members had fantastic returns and quite good times as well. As for the dogleg, I know someone about four years ago used to see the birds breaking there, so that's why Cove was picked, they still fly in a big bend along the A96 though but at least it gives the furthest West boys a better chance of getting on the score sheet. Drive safe Davy, Jim.
  17. Aye, yer right John. That's how it is in the UK now a days. There is no protection for victims, just look at the number o folk that's done away with thersels because the polis wouldny help them.

  19. Could be because a lot of the ETS rings did not register on marking. Driver's sheet is more likly to be correct. Forres put 120 birds but ETS printout says 104 Birds.
  20. Aye well done Paul! John, how did you do that while I was editing. I thought no one could see it yet, need to watch what I'm doing in future.

  22. Wallace was quartered! I have not had any bother whatsoever from MY sparrow hawk for a couple of weeks now. I hope it's too late for another hen to move in before nesting time. Something must have happened to the one that bothered me all winter.
  23. The odd spit of rain in Inverness, I've trained in a lot worse.
  24. Are they being watered in the crates? If the water has any disinfectant/steriliser in it, it needs to be completely emptied and refilled before each race or the birds won’t touch it. It can go acidic, well so our last driver told me.
  25. Hi Sandy, Was thick fog in Inverness earlier this morning but it's clearing now. I've seen some blue sky. the wind is almost calm and I can see the Black Isle to the North. Good luck for today, Jim.
