  4. The South Lanarkshire liberated at Otterburn on Saturday and the winning velocity was in the 900 ypm and birds well split , but good returns. It was very cold on Saturday any race with a temperature under 10d will be difficult.

  8. Clarkston & District members would like to thank Dave Elliot of Newbiggin for his first class presentation on Friday night . The event had an excellent attendance by fanciers from throughout the pigeon community . We enjoyed an education on the physical , psychological and emotional needs of long distance pigeons .   11. My own club, Clarkston & District, are holding a very special night for all those distance enthusiasts. A master class with the brilliant distance fancier Dave Elliot of Mr & Mrs Elliot of Newbiggin. He was this years Scottish National Flying Club , Blue Ribbon race WINNER, previously having won sections, golden awards and everything good in distance racing. He is simple the best of the best, a living legend of the sport!!! This night will take place on Friday 30th March, starting at 7 30pm sharp till late, the cost of this is nothing, yes nothing - so put the date in your diary's now!!. You will be learning from the best, nothing held back. He has prepared literature and facts that will make you think and he will answer any questions you wish to ask. Dave has been described by the best in the sport of someone with superior knowledge of our feathered friends. Honest, priceless knowledge that doesn't come along very often! All welcome to attend at Clarkston & District Pigeon Club , Ashgrove ,Craigneuk, Airdrie, refreshments available on he night!
  12. The arrangements for johnny's funeral is Friday 24th February, 1pm, Mclarens funeral directors, Sunnyside Coatbridge, then onto Bedlaw cemetery , Moodiesburn.
  13. Think it makes sense for all those going down that route to combine for the longest three races.

Sad news ,cracking guy Johnny and his brother Robert who I was privileged to meet and spent time over in their compound back in the 80s and often met Johnny at the open race marking and always maintained his enthusiasm for the sport . Johnny was always welcoming and never stopped working for the sport . RIP The Corries

  17. It would be much better for everyone not to get involved in slagging each other on forum. Both fanciers are excellent fanciers with multiple . Federation and National positions. Think the moderator should remove all non specific communication .

  23. Thanks Martin, this bird won 2x1st prizes in the club old bird programme and was a gift by your friend Martin Hilley from his GWP Macaloney birds.
  24. Good to see another cracking turnout, remember that Clarkston presentation night is tomorrow Saturday 26th November in the Clarkston Miners Welfare 7pm , buffet , live band and its free to those who attend the shows. So come along and enjoy the night.
