Every time the birds race is adding to their education and will stand them in good stead for future years. Stop pampering them, race the full programme plus Young Bird National and what you are left with have got to be the best you have. Stop them, breed from them & you don't know their capabilities, maybe the problem with young bird racing is too many inferior birds??

I feel I have to ask the question with all the slating directed at the controller/s " are you putting yourself forward for the position of controller" ?

I have been asked to post notification that the SNFC plan to liberate the birds from Roye tomorrow 14th if all goes well as the weather forecast for Friday/Saturday does not look promising. The birds are already on site so will be well rested before liberation. If members that use pigeonbasics can let as many other members know the intention to liberate tomorrow it would be greatly appreciated and any further updates will be posted on SNFC website so please keep checking the website as the weather and situation may change again.

Thunder & lightning across almost the whole of the country, couldn't liberate earlier for rain at racepoint. We're not all trying to empty our lofts of race birds!!

Torrential rain, Thunder & Lightning, Hailstones etc all over the country, I'd say it was a fair chance. Only my opinion of course

Birds welfare should always come first but I'm sure the majority that sent would have been hoping the weather would get a bit better for the race and if not then at least the birds be held until conditions were more suitable. I've heard it said that you should be your own controller but in races like this then I feel you should be able to have some confidence in the controllers given the predicted forecast. I also realise it's a thankless job that's why I never comment on controllers but they got it wrong this time, big time. We also never sent so like you have no axe to grind but still feel for all the guys that have lost good pigeons that should have made it.
