I had just let my yb team out yesterday about 10 ish when a family of peregrines arrived in town (4) and proceeded to give an aerial display for well over half an hour The pigeons quickly dropped to a safe height and flew around the house before landing ,they then went about their business bathing etc with some watching the Falcons In the 1990s the pigeons would have flown into the house windows under the car etc But nowadays the Falcons are that common they are not disturbed the same or certainly don't show it The display from the 2 big young Falcons was something else with the parents continually flying miles outwith the town to catch pray to teach their young They went to many thousands of feet to just a few hundred Their training time this week has been from 10ish till noon when they then go back to rest Hope my racers don't return today until after their show fingers crossed

The weather most probably stopped your birds but not down here

The sun shone in Moffat from first thing yesterday morning with blue sky's and very little cloud all day We did not get one single drop of rain all day My biggest job yesterday was lying in the sunshine My daughter travelled to glasgow yesterday and said it was full cloud cover at hamilton when dropping of a pigeon

When I stayed on a farm on the outskirts of Moffat in the 1990"s I witnessed the Lanarkshire young birds that had been liberated at locharbriggs being turned and scattered all over the sky by 1 peregrine To be hit by a family nowadays every few miles there's the answer as you rightfully say Our hobby won't survive past our generation
