Don't no what weather was like with the rest of you today but here in Moffat never seen any sunshine all day total cloud cover with hills misting over with light rain very strong cold north east wind ,when i let youngsters out to exercise tonight they flew well in the very strong wind ,I had a woolie jumper and a jacket on and this is meant to be summer ,East Winds good for neither man nor Beast.

Clubmate tossed 40 yb's at carlisle this morning about 9-30 spoke to him at 5-30 only 3 home says he's had enough and giving up ,sad times .

Well Done Robert ,think you changed the feeding

Tried ,eyes ,sequins ,Bali bells over 20 years ago and believe me 100% nothing works only time a falcon ever died was if it chocked on the Bali bell .
-
I thought i was unlucky with 20 down the other night ,hope you get a bit of good luck ,to much hard work goes into them for this to continue .

Liberated 2 groups Yb's at 20 mls all home ,then liberated 8 yearlings from same spot watched through binoculars as they cleared north that was 12 noon ,did not get one till seven tonight with half a wing ,part tail missing and ripped underneath ,no sign of the rest yet, Then took younger ones 7 miles for there first toss liberated them in 4 groups of 12 ,watched through binoculars as first group were turned and headed into hills ,then watched peregrine go straight through 2ND group ,then lib 3rd and 4Th groups at 15 min intervals .got half home after half an hour it then took another two and a half hours for the others before they started to show ended up lucky with only 2 down and one minus a tail ,(like a A&E here at present)

Only got three yearlings and two young all day yesterday ,first yearling not till 12 noon in what was a lovely day weather wise ,so that's still 15 missing ,never in 40 years of racing had losses like that from such a short distance ,the one's that are back were very fresh and trained last night with the others of there own freewill ,sure they have been put to ground suggesting many may be injured ,of training again today hoping for better luck ,got to now worry about the birds in the loft and not the one's that aren't .
-
Very nice and sunny here at present with blue sky,but for how long ?
-
Thanks John it has turned into a real nasty night down here so hopfully they will have went to ground time will tell .
-
Yeah thanks ,sadly the negatives far out-way the positives nowadays turning more of a lottery as each year passes .
-
Got a right clatter tonight at same spot as Fridays trainer ,birds were trying to clear north but were continuously being turned which suggested falcons working the sky's to the north of them ,got a single Yb after 45 min then another 50 min before another 4 singles worked in been the same all night till darkness fell, still 10 yearlings and 10 Yb's missing been trying to alter training times to no avail very very frustrating another early rise ,on par with looking for gold cup birds this .

Having read these posts many times now regarding liberating both old and young pigeons it is quite apparent that most fellow fanciers myself included once outside our own surroundings do not have a clue as to specific peregrine nest sites ,many years ago the shu were doing a survey and we the fancier as part of that survey were asked to fill in coordinates of known falcon sites ,i did this and forwarded the map to the shu nothing ever happened regarding info release when i asked a representative about this at the Blackpool show i was informed that they were unable to make this information public after a warning from the rspb informing them that this would be a major threat to the well being of falcon sites ,WELL I NOW SAY IT IS TIME TO BE COUNTED NO MORE F--- ABOUT LETS ALL LET EACH OTHER NO THE LOCATIONS OF THESE SITES SEND EACH OTHER POSTAL ADDRESSES AND LETS ALL NO WHERE THEY ARE TIME TO GET IT SORTED LADS COSTING US FAR TO MUCH TIME AND CASH TIME FOR ORGANISED MASS LIBERATIONS
