  6. well done may 2009 treat you more better foe health and for birds
  7. i tend to pair on size yes big to small , some are more front ended others more rear ended and not as nicely tapered , others are long cast some can seem cobby so pairings the later would result in better shaped birds , then theres the eyesign believers dark eyes to light eyes opps forgot most dont like same eyed pairings but i have paired mother to son with same eyes and won with them , if you use this template your birds start to look like one another breeding a nicer type of bird . When pairing pigeons i tend to pair birds that will compliment each other.
  8. if it respirity then surely the loft design / ventilation needs addressing to prevent further out breaks , then it needs diagnosing but due to the throat been white i would suggest that its infected and a course of antibiotics would be needed but they would also need to be spectrum specific to the bacteria pathogen thats present.
  9. buy smaller birds in then they'll get smaller over time dont put 2 big pigeons together, i like medium sized birds but my birds vary the bigger pigeons tend to be sprinters and getting to a medium to small size the further they go
  10. 77 ybs that hardly constitutes a small loft
  11. The health of our pigeons ? priceless . Treating blind for disease will end up with a empty pocket and a heavy heart and birds with no immunity that pick up every thing going in the basket . A trip to the vet will in the long run will be cheaper as you will arrive at the cause of an illness and whats effective for that illness , you only pay for what you need and not what you dont
  12. Chris i value your input , all im trying to say inlaymens terms is this: one any disease firstly has to be identified secondly it needs to be treated with something thats going to work and the only way to do this is to grow the bacteria in a lab in a petri dish then the bacterias have to be tested against different antibiotics ectra to see which one works , use the wrong one you'l have no cure , infact the problem becomes worse then the birds immune system collapses as healthy bacteria have been destroyed and the active pathogen / bacteria has a free run .
  13. ok how do you diagnose cylamidia in pigeons what are the symptoms ? and could you be treating for the wrong thing ? and do other pathogens and microbaterial infections have a similar effect ? the answer is this yes several things could have the same effect and you could be doing far more damage by blind treating and giving the wrong medications for the wrong jobs and thus making the birds more susceptible to further outbreaks of diseases by treating wrongly then you will have the same problem as the pop group The Verve ~ the drugs dont work
  14. im sure a loaded gun when the safetys off would cure an headache for good but i wouldnt use it
  15. and on a autopsys there were not internal damage after this cure ???? the bird may not be displaying any symptoms but damage may of occured if it says on the tube to be used externaly there has to be a reason behind it
  16. if i went out bought every thinkable cure for this and that 1 i would spend a small fortune on things i dint need nor my birds need , 2 i would compromise the immunity i have built up in my flock , 3 i could make the situation far worse by giving non sutible antibiotics when there not spectrum specific , some antibotics can accelerate hostile infections by targeting the wrong bacterias duh :D :D ??)
  17. nice birds
  18. get a vet to grow a swab from gullet then it grows in a petri dish then is identified then they drop antibiotics to see which one works
