i must be doing something right , i dont treat and heres my last lab test before pairing up
-
lets take the base of food lets say wheat , wheat is a carbohydrate ( starch ) which when starting to break down turns in to digestable simple sugars which give the bird fuel , these sugars give yeast something to feed on and can cause a yeast infection ( been a primary infection ) and as a secondary infection can cause the canker to raise its head due to the change in its normal enviroment
-
secondary infection live yeast will cause the canker to flair
-
Trichomonas gallinae is a single celled parasite, motile flagellate. Nearly all pigeons are carriers of trichomonads, which live in the mucosa of the beak and throat, the gullet and the crop. Infected pigeons excrete the parasites in saliva and faeces , the yeast if active would give these organisms an ideal enviroment to grown and end up with canker as a secondary infection

the natural flying system to my knowledge works around the natural breeding cycle of a pigeon from laying to chipping and various stages of a young bird , so at times you wouldnt be able to send the hen for laying , then you would have to leave one bird at home be it the cock or hen to attend the nest , then you would have to find the nest state the hen likes to fly to and then the cock , timing nests so eggs are chipping ectra to increase the birds effort ........................ and much more , but durring this time of nests ectra they are moulting and casting flytes so technicaly they have inferior uplift and down thrust due to the areodynamics of the wing and the strain that breeding whilst racing has upon them
-
why would you be it happens
-
what is aload of crap ? flying on a full wing ? resting better ? rather than typing what a load of crap tell him your system ....................
-
most natural fliers i know favour flying to a large squeaker ? some chipping ectra to find the ideal nest state , as after the 14 days old these are removed as would be too much of a strain on the race birds where as with widowhood your teasing the birds no messy nests ectra and birds rest
-
question for you Jamie could you destroy a 14 day old squeaker ? if not then the natural system not for you , however with widowhood your birds will have the benifit of flying on a full wing and you can fly them around loft and need less training as keep themselves fit
-
you can fly what ever system you want , depends how much work you want
-
if was me then id fly widowhood and 6am to 2pm let out as soon as you can at a set time so perhaps 2.30pm each day for a 45 minutes then an hour before it gets dark for 40 minutes , 2PM TO 10PM 6 AM let out for 45 minutes then 12 noon or as late as possible before work for 45 minutes , im sure birds would get used to the pattern
-
have made home brew when i was younger , what hogni has is sediment from the brewing process and the yeast may still be active , and yes they do use the yeast over and over , so he could be doing his birds some harm in giving it to them after all canker is a yeast infection
-
just move and keep your racers
-
i think your father would of seen through the rubbish on the market and may of altered slightly but most of the products your father used are still been used to great effect , a great fancier once told me nothing out of a bottle other than a drug will make your birds fly any faster , just make sure your birds are healthier and fitter than your compeditors

its amazing that we can use gps navigational aids to go from a to b anywhere in uk and get an accurate map and directions , google earth can even give you photos of your back garden all be it a few years old , but yet R.P.R.A say that gps isnt accurate who are they trying too fool ?

that would be illegal ( R.P.R.A rules ) as outside the sputnik so ineffect not within the confines of the loft or trapping system
