You can be sure the decision to hold over was not taken lightly, and Jim always has the birds in mind when making decisions. He has to consider the majority if the convoy no just the winners, by that i mean, while the winners would get up the road in decent time, it does the sport, in general, no good liberating doos in conditions where only a minority of the convoy can hope to be in their own lofts on the day of Lib, jmo.

according to the BBC the temp is 10 degrees, thats warm enough for doos to be up. jmo

When we go on a diet, we eat less of the same things we eat anyway, so i suggest you feed half to 3 quarters of what you give them every day. Keep it up 'til your happy with their weight and then try no to let them get fat again!

This week its the SNFC/LAN FED OPEN from Eastbourne. 389ml 658yd for me.

Settled on 6, all yearlings, only one hen. She is sittin 4 day yb's, 3 ck's feeding single yb in the nest, and looking at their hen again, one ck spare and the last one sittin 12 day eggs.

Thats interesting, some watch batteris are less than a gram in weight and the chip weighs nothing, so it might no be as far off as we'd think

Don't treat for anything. The birds with the strongest constitution will be fine, the others would go down anyway the first hard race they get. The ones not getting over it by themselves should be given short shrift, i know its no everybody's idea on how to deal with things but in 3/4 years of being rigid with this method, you won't get sick birds in your loft. I've been through every emotion, from feeling ill to cursing myself, but its been worth all of them. I simply don't get sick birds from my own stock. This year is typical, i've had to dispose of only 2 youngsters, and they were both bred elsewhere. Very best of luck to you, however you deal with it.
