Just underwent 10 weeks of dark and have the lights on now.

One thing I’ve noticed the birds do not perch up at night any longer. I have maybe 1/3 or my team I see on the floor when I get to to the loft early morning. Any thought why the sudden change of behavior? Plenty of perched and they have always perched up at night. Please help.

Thank you

Bit confused !

What time do your lights come on, and at what time go off ?

What time do attend your loft in the morning ?

Hi Showman,

I let them wake up to the natural sun. The lights come on at 6pm and turns off at 10pm. I'm at the loft at sunrise.. just really weird.

Sunrise is at 6am.

The ones that haven't perched have been caught out by your lights going off. When they go off it is plunging them into darkness with no gloaming. If you fit a dimmer they would have time, either that or have your lights go off when it is in the gloaming. :)
