I would say it's not the steroids causing it, my wife is on high doses of steroids and doesn't make her thirsty, what is the dog on steroids for?

Crazy as it seems, licking her feet all the time,to level her front pads were red raw,she is a 10year old shepherd.

I have had this problem with two of the many shepherds I have had and in the end it was because she was elergic to many things and when we had been out in the woods or grass she was at her worst, also we had to change her diet, although all this helped it did not stop it entirely, hope this helps.

Ask the vet for Pevadine. Make up a Pevadine / water solution and bathe her feet. It helps cool the inflammation and also fights the bacterial infection.

Some of my Boxers had this condition. If you check the nails, you will find that there is a greasy discharge on them. Look carefully between the toes and you will see small spots. When they burst, there is a discharge from them also. The spots are the cause of the irritation and the licking opens them to infection, thus the inflammation and heat, again causing the licking.

Sad to say, this never went away, but it did subside at times. :)

My staffy dog had this for years, changed his diet to raw and never been bothered since, tried all the vet stuff steroids tablets etc, acv in water helped as well as diluted spray on his paws, done allergie tests, cereals in dog food were the culprit, dogs arnt designed to eat cereals and grains, I'm actually cheaper feeding him raw food than commercial dog foods. I buy it frozen and delivered to the door. Never been healthier

You get some butchers that sell dog mince but I buy mine from a company that's based in Fife called "hungry hounds" they deliver to the door every 2 weeks. They sell all different mixes of every kind of meat you can think of. I usually order game meats like rabbit and venison, plus organ chunks. The dog eats better than me 😂😂😂

Keep an eye on the reduced section in tesco etc, usually hearts and liver for pennies

Acc was a mistake I meant apple cider vinegar.
