lanarkshire lad Posted May 11, 2016 Report Posted May 11, 2016 I am forever telling people if you are going to train its best training with big numbers for safety reasons and what did I do I took some a wee toss on Monday night myself thinking it's only a short toss they should be ok well I am two injured one way a broken leg the other has half its wing missing and badly bruised and another two still missing that's my first toss by myself this year and it will be my last.
geordie1234 Posted May 11, 2016 Report Posted May 11, 2016 Aye Jim it's murder I've got away with it a few times then bang coming in singles all day
William Reid Posted May 11, 2016 Report Posted May 11, 2016 Fckn murder Jim hope the two that are missing haven't been taken and work their way home.
Delboy Posted May 11, 2016 Report Posted May 11, 2016 My hens and cocks have had one toss each this year before the season and I lost a hen that was at 400 mls last year. They wont go in the basket again until the nationals come about and only if really needed. *expletive removed* running the gauntlet every time they go in a basket. I think its about time this problem was sorted, once and FOR ALL.
Uphill Lofts Posted May 11, 2016 Report Posted May 11, 2016 Never train birds once racing starts. And only 3/4 short ones before, lost to many training these days.Compete in Two clubs had 9 races so far won first 7 races and second in both this week.So don`t basket road train no more.
yeboah Posted May 11, 2016 Report Posted May 11, 2016 As you know I raced natural jim for more years than I care to remember ,but when the falcon problem became worse in the 90's and into millennium I had no choice but reluctantly changed to first roundabout then widowhood now celibate They get two tosses prior to racing then no moreThey are super fit and up with the leaders ,they are a joy to watch on a night after work racing the sky's and flying solo ,With no Stress for Pigeon or fancier I do feel that hens going to the channel need an edge so I paired what I considered my best 8 two year olds to old cocks and let them rear a youngster They now perch with the celibate yearlings and keep fit that way until being repaired when required I wish you good luck and am sure you will adjust as required Atb Mick
