Roland Posted January 12, 2016 Report Posted January 12, 2016 I think your wrong mate every One has a duty of care to look out for thiss in there lofts the same as any other diseases especially if it could kill people pigeons can be replaced people cant and as far as missing a race program there will be. Others Totally agree with that post King. Of course that statement is 100% correct. The post you asking what to look out for is like a witch hunt scenario though. Also as it isn't preventable 'why Look out for it'? One would soon know if their birds are ill or suspect to it... or most likely another ailment - or shou8ld. We don't need- especially in our game - folks / fanciers running around look - let alone worrying about that particular ailment, Which is most likely never going to have it. Could soon be classed as scare mongering and too many worrying about nothing ... needlessly! Besides, since the USA was taken to the Helsinki court for it, they have tightened it up a lot... nigh negible. That's why they brought out the 'Avian Flu'. They covered all the loop holes so that they couldn't be prosecuted... Mind some countries are still trying. Best, or worst in reality, laugh was George Bush and his hoppo George Rumpole sold their Oil shares then got the USA Senate to give him $8 billion to make a antidote that never worked- only stemmed it. Sold in package to us and around the world at £200.000 a throw. Blair bought us stacks lol
Roland Posted January 12, 2016 Report Posted January 12, 2016 Strangely enough Cats are suseptical. Their so called cures were...Oseltamivir (Tamiflu)the main one, Zanamivir (Relenza) and Peramivir (Rapivab. But they only help reduce the severity of the condition, prevent complications and improve the chances of survival. But Bush made a fortune... No wonder he sold his oil lol.
sandy25 Posted January 13, 2016 Report Posted January 13, 2016 My daughter tells me tonight that the chickens that they keep at school (as a project) have all been put down because of this ..school is Queen Anne in Dunfermline I would have thought that it is beyond the 1k of the exclusion zone ..question is does that now start a new exclusion .zone with that as a new centre ?Has anyone any ideas on this?.....Also haven't heard anything on news about this by chance has anybody?Seems strange that its being kept quiet does it not or is it more ominous than strange?
Ian McKay Posted January 14, 2016 Author Report Posted January 14, 2016 Not good news https://www.rt.com/news/328810-france-bird-flu-outbreak/
THE FIFER Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 Thought all poultry were vaccinated ? As pigeons, so is the vaccination not taking effect as it should,
philg50 Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 I think it would and is virtually impossible to vaccinate all hens or any other birds in Europe whether egg layers or table birds and can you imagine the cost ,in my opinion fowk in that industries would break the rules,in our case i think the pigeon fraternity do there bit and are easy targets for collecting the revenue.
