I have a barless mealie my dad bred me and also he has a few and a silver hen or two

Does anybody here keep or know anyone with rare colour racers ? Like opal, indigo , reduced , silver , milky or barless ?

Louella Pigeon world have quite a lot of barless mealeys in their King of the Faroes strain :)

Its the father that breeds silvers its a sex linked dilute of blue so the father is split for silver . Yellow and dun the dilute of black work in the same way to breed a dilute cock use a split cock on a dilute hen example the father back to the dilute daughter they are all naked when hatched ie dont have down barless mealies are usually not barless mealies but lavender to breed these use a mealy to a black the youngsters are the oppossite way round to the parents ie mealy cock and black hen breeds black cocks and mealy or (barless ) hens criss cross mating

The sex-linkage is the other way round:

 

Ash-red hen to blue/black cock gives blue/black hens and ash-red sons with black flecking indicating they are carrying blue/black.

 

Pure ash-red (mealy)cock to blue/black hen will give only ash-red young of both sexes, sons will show blue/black flecking.

 

If the ash-red cock is carrying blue, the young will be ash-red cocks and hens and blue/black cocks and hens.
