Droppings Test

Where is the best place to get droppings tested and how much ? I want to test for all the normal things plus i want to know if my young birds sickness has cleared up and that theres no underlying secondary diseases like Ecoli or Sammonella present

I use a Irish guy called Francis scullion he will test and also give u what u need to treat them a standard test is £20 and a full test that takes about ten days I think is £70 but I usually just get the 20 test I trust this guy and he has never let me down pm for contact details cheers

That seems like good value for money buster, have you used them yourself before. If so how long until you get result from sending. Just to confirm is the cloaca the vent on a pigeon.

I haven't personally yet I will be when I need tests doing, some on other sites have and have said very good and efficient service

I don't know whereabouts you are Sam - but I use an avian vet in Thirsk

He takes cloacal (vent) and throat swabs and reckons that they should only be looked at under a microscope when they are fresh - droppings can be sent by post to him

but not swabs - he insists that the swabs have to be fresh samples

I would have to assume it would be qualified technicians. But you have their phone number so ask them.
