The above post is EASILY the best post i have ever read on pigeon basics.

The truth and nothing but the truth and some common sense thrown in.

Fanciers should read it all again.

All fanciers should take heed of the above post.

Very well said Ian :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping:

Glad you clarified that

All I am saying is good on D Barrie and G Duncan for informing there members instead of blaming everything else and I reiterate it is the first time I have heard of the Officials making it known to there members

Being a new starter I can't offer the same past experience or knowledge as some of you guys. But I can say being my first year racing the number of races I have competed in is a lower number then the number of BOP attacks I have witnessed with my own eyes so I am well aware of how bad this situation is (from Southern England right up to the Northerly parts of Scotland also Wales etc etc.

The RPRA and other Unions seem to be doing little (or nothing) to combat this problem and as many people have said time and time again this problem is getting progressively worst so not expecting and saving graces from them clowns.

But surely we need to see a team of guys put together, 4/5 who can co-ordinate and put together a plan to tackle this issue (right throughout the UK) before it's too late. Our sport puts so much money into charity etc and raises an awful lot through various means. But surely the time has come to raise similar funds and pump them into preserving the sport instead? A well funded, well planned, sustained plan should see a massive difference and yes while we can't control everything (3g,4g, wireless communications etc) the BOP problem we can have a serious effect on. There are still enough of us in the sport left to make a stand and make a difference.

But we can all moan and groan all day long but we need a serious team effort (across the board) to have any chance of fixing things. Something needs setting up and then promoting online and at all the big shows and events for sure.

In the short term why aren't convoyers using agricultural rockets before each lib to at least make sure the birds have a chance to at least clear the site before being hit.

It might help if we understood why we get GOOD RACING and followed that. We all have ideas why we get bad racing but there must be equally compelling evidence why some weeks we get nye on 100% returns. Compiling this info and following it just might help fanciers choose which races to send to, apart from averages chasers it would serve the fancy well. Jmo ??

I think some clubs last year went for Friday or Sunday racing wonder how they got on?

Do we really understand why we get good or Bad races?

Race controllers in general do a thankless job they do not want the smashes they sometimes get and if they are in the job long enough they will get it !

Is it time to get Professional help from weather experts or is this pie in the sky?

Where is the answer? I don't know but we must keep looking or we are doomed someone some where will come up with it we must keep questioning everything

To me the difference between a good race and a poor one is if the birds get hit at liberation, scattering them in all directions.

Here comes the controversial bit!

Sea races could be the answer, thereafter race a s/e route from the continent.

Have you watched the Derby Arona liberations and the BOP attacks ?

Water don't stop them

Were the attacks out at sea when liberated or when they hit the mainland?
