Sounds perfect to me! They are showing all good signs, Now get them used to coming home to a hen then you'll not need to worry about getting them in as they'll want home to see if hen in box

Hi the birds are in good form, but if you want them all trapping immediately together in seconds, then when you open the trap to let them in the ones that stay out after about ten seconds leave out lock the trap and once the others have finished eating remove all the feeding and have the trap so only the ones out can get in (bob wires) then when the rest eventually come in just leave them minus a feed and they will be first in tomorrow, they will soon all fall into line and they will learn, out, fly, down, in, fed.

Also make sure you stick to the same time every day as routine is key on widowhood. all the best for the coming season.

Even when you let them out have their hens in the boxes for a couple of minutes

They wont be long in learning.

Hi Jim read the above post shouldn't go far wrong m8,never raced widowhood but my understanding is they eat much when on form ,atb m8

To my knowledge the opposite is true. When racing commences observation will prove that the bird that eats the least will be corky and ready to go. I should not be writing secrets like this.

cocks will go a little mad sometimes do unusual things when you take away there hens ive often even seen them sulk you maybe need to lighten there feed with barley you dont want to be showing the hens just to get them to trap as if your going to use the hens as motivation as what will happen they will stop flying when they realise that the hens will be in the boxes after they come in from a fly they will just bomb about for 10 mins then spend the next 30 mins trying to get bk into the hens try having there feed ready where ever u feed them if its on the ground or in there boxes it takes a little while to get them right if your feeding twice a day feed a little less in the morning so there that little more hungry when you leave them out
