We have a 14 year old cock proudly sitting a fertilised egg - his first in 2 years

(and only the one out of two laid)

He has the nickname 'Pork Pie', as he has 5 firsts from Melton Mowbray!

He is an old cock given a perch for life in the stock loft, we didn't expect him to fill an egg despite him being paired to a younger hen - his last youngster - a cock - is also in the stock loft and was a late bred (a warmer weather youngster)

However is 14 a bit old to be bringing the youngster up - should it be fostered?

What's your opinion?
