Anybody come across this from Bamfords. Can one mix really do pretty much everything or would it do as a base mix to add to for rearing, racing, moulting etc?

MULTI-TASK

All the latest information on our popular new mix, Multi-Task

Multi-Task by Name, Multi-Task by Nature

Bamfords Top Flight are proud to announce a new premium pigeon mixture into our already extensive range of high quality feeds. Multi-Task is a high performance complete mix made from over 20 carefully chosen ingredients. These ingredients have been specially selected from the finest seeds, pulses and cereals to provide your birds with the high levels of carbohydrates, proteins and fats they require to fulfill their maximum potential.

To further improve this specialist mixture, Multi-Task is unique in containing the newly improved Bamfords Orego Stim Pelllets (BOS Pellets). The inclusion of BOS Pellets will help to support the natural health of your birds whilst providing them with much needed Vitmains, Minerals and Trace Elements.

Added to this Multi-Task is also a highly versatile mixture and will benefit your birds at any point in the seasons, being suitable for Breeding, Racing & Moulting. Multi-Task really is value, without the compromise!

Breeding

The refined protein ingredients in Multi-Task allow the parent birds a less arduous job in rearing their young. The inclusion of pre-cooked BOS Pellets with 18% protein, can be readily digested and transferred to the squabs with a minimum of effort, leaving the old birds in much better condition at weaning. The youngsters too, will benefit from the natural health support afforded by the Orego Stim contained in the BOS Pellets, and their feathering will also have added lustre due to quality of oil seeds in the mix.

Rearing

Youngsters reared on the Darkness system will greatly benefit from Multi-Task as they go through that first rapid body moult. The inclusion of Sunflowers, Hemp, Linseed and Rapeseed, will replenish the feathering with a silky smooth finish.

Racing

The high levels of carbohydrates, proteins and fats, make Multi-Task an ideal mixture for racing at all distances. With both Popcorn and Red Maize, as well as a variety of smaller energy seeds, means Sprint racing is well covered; while proteins help build up muscle and prepare for the tougher races ahead. The Multi –Task oil and fat seeds are well placed to gradually improve body condition, which is vital in preparation for long distance events.

Moulting

Multi-Task is an ideal mixture for your birds to cope with the rigours of the Moult, and complete a smooth transformation into a shiny new coat.

Composition

Popcorn Maize, BOS Pellets, Safflower, Paddy Rice, Maples, Wheat, Red Dari, White Dari, Linseed, Black Rapeseed, Buckwheat, Tares, Mung Beans, Dun Peas, Blue Peas, Barley, Red Maize, Canary Seed, Naked Oats, Millet, Small Sunflower, Black Sunflower, Hemp.

Multi- Task is a very nice mix, like many of the bamford mixes. However I don't think it is the full package, to do everything it states.Personally I want to be in control of when my birds get Protein, Carbs and Fats, during the racing season with Multi- Task being an all rounder you do not have this option. I am also dubious on it's protein content for rearing babies. However that being said it's variety to offer the parents is a good option, with myself using 3 different breeding mixes and feeding my breeders 3 times a day at least it may be a very good option. It would cover the moult easily.

Hi Wiley

would you think this mix could be used as a base mix to race on with some extra protein added Sunday maybe Monday and about 30% maize added from Wednesday to the multi mix ?

from what I have read I would think like you mention 50% peas or beans added to it wouldn't be a bad breeding mix either

Hi Neil

I'd be dubious on using it as a base mix, but it's dependant on your goals. For myself being predominately sprint orientated, as said in previous post I want to be in charge especially the protein content, as after Monday personally I want as little or as none protein content in my grain, as I then want high carbs and more importantly then carbs I want high fats. However there is a possibility you could use it, similar maybe to how you suggested, but with the amount of mixes on the market, you could achieve better and cheaper compositions from buying ready made grains. However no mix is perfect, hence the reason I try and offer 3 different brands and 3 different compositions to my breeders.

having purchased one bag to try of the multi task to mix in with barley leading up to training I find there does seem to be a lot of sunflower in it and not just the hearts the black shell as well

other than that it looks a nice clean mix

Hi Mate

I am mixing it 50/50 for now , when I race I tend to mix in 20 per cent barley to what ever I feed to the last couple of days of the week as I tend to over feed .Then over 200 miles I add 10 per cent barley

if I stick with the multi task I think it will need about 30/40 per cent maize adding after Monday or Tuesday

I just wanted to try it out so I thought I would buy a bag

Guest Jamsie

We used Multi Task for the first time last year. With Redband and Rice added near end of the week and the birds were in good order on this regime.

I know little about this side of things so it's left to my brother to decide what feeding and supplements are used.

The one thing i do know for a Fact is that it's NOT what feeding you use that brings success, it is what you feed it TO that matters most.
