Chris Little Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 It was a good response from Les as what was happening was some of the Scottish politicians were intent in dragging the good name of the Cumbrian RPRA region into the dirty war. Les put the record straight, nice and simple.
square_peg Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 Les put the record straight, nice and simple. that would be nice up here in fife its not to bad a few members walked out without paying a penny.a few more (including some of my clubmates)payed up then left. but, just how much do fanciers really know what happened in the east of scotland fed?lots of stories have been told about meetings not run properly, baskets and transporter being "pinched" in the middle of the night.etc etc.
THE FIFER Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 what i do not understand is why people who keep downing the SHU and prefer the RPRA are still a member of the SHU, they now have a choice, if its so bad and they do not like the way the SHU run their affairs why stay with them, ?????????????
square_peg Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 To true arch the honourable fanciers did why sit with 1 leg each side of the fence ? stay and you fly by SHU/SNFC rules or go and race with who ever organises your next race. al i know is who we will be flying with, our choice our money our decision. end of .
THE FIFER Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 well when there is chioce why stay with an organisation u dont like, and its not sportsman to be a member of an organisation and run it down is it.

THE FIFER Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 A superb letter by Les Blacklock in the BHW u started it again chris.
THE FIFER Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 We are members of both the SHU and RPRA, there is simply no comparision between the two, the RPRA is miles ahead on all accounts, their conduct and professionalism one would expect of a huge organisation is excellent. It filled us up with immense pride last year when we collected our RPRA award and medal. Before some start getting excited, we joined the RPRA many years ago long before the outbreak of civil war with the view of joining some English classic clubs to participate in 700 - 800 mile races. Leave politics to the overpaid old farts in Holyrood and Westminster and just enjoy your pigeons and again.

PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST POSTS ON HERE I HAVE READ FIFER AND FULLY AGREE WITH IT 100% IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT DONT STAY IN IT IF IT IS THAT BAD
THE FIFER Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 yes but they probably have a reason tammy, but as said why pay money and stay in an organisation u do not like, when u have a choice. and its not very good for the members who are content with their organisation and work hard to keep it to have others run it down all the time, in my mind they are not really happy with the choice they are in.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 THE GRASS IS NOT ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE
dandydoo Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Stay in two/three/four unions you can have any colour you want :P ;D ;D ;D ;D 8)
THE FIFER Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 RPRA RULE 162, yes they do that as well, so why is it wrong for the SHU to do so,
square_peg Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 RPRA RULE 162, yes they do that as well, so why is it wrong for the SHU to do so, what does this rule say archie?
THE FIFER Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 what does this rule say archie? "a member wishing to resign from an organisation must do so in writing before the annual general meeting of the organisation or he will be liable to pay his subscription for the following year. A resignation can only be accepted by an organisation if the member has paid all his debts to the organisation." RPRA rule 162

GREENGRASS Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 THE GRASS IS NOT ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE ;) ;) ;) ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
dandydoo Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Except if you leave to go TO the RPRA ;D ;D ;D nothing to do with Cumbria either it is a Union rule and is applied or not. CONSISTANTLY if not why not and if why not why have the rule :o :o :o . So has anyone answered what is the merit in flying in both? W Why fly and be a member of a Union you are critical of? "a member wishing to resign from an organisation must do so in writing before the annual general meeting of the organisation or he will be liable to pay his subscription for the following year. A resignation can only be accepted by an organisation if the member has paid all his debts to the organisation." RPRA rule 162
Roland Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Supose they sit the fence because they nebver know what's around the Corner, or where their bread is best buttered.... And I guess the ole chestnut in regards why the disbarrage anything is, 'As a memeber I have the same rights and privelges as every one else ... beside what is Wrong in trying to improve. seen it all so often, but that in my expierence usually means' Watching how the land lies' lol But surely the more in, whether flying or not, all helps the 'Coffers' as long as they pay their dues!
me Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Quoted from the fifer what i do not understand is why people who keep downing the SHU and prefer the RPRA are still a member of the SHU, they now have a choice, if its so bad and they do not like the way the SHU run their affairs why stay with them, ????????????? "PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST POSTS ON HERE I HAVE READ FIFER AND FULLY AGREE WITH IT 100% IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT DONT STAY IN IT IF IT IS THAT BAD" - Tammy This is a bit disingenuous is it not Tammy you have spent the entire summer and autumn slagging of the Lanarkshire federation so by your own logic you should have just "walked". But fair play to you you stood your ground and tried to change things. There is also fifer the small matter that you have to be a member of the shu to be a member of the SNFC so in that respect its fairly easy to understand why people have remained members is it not?
THE FIFER Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 they changed their clubs -feds to go rpra because they were shu, so the snfc stayed shu so whats the difference they went to get away from shu, they wanted nothing to do with the shu, the snfc is shu. so they are still with the shu, they also have a chioce they formed another scottish national, so no excuse to stay with a organisation they keep downing. that was the excuse for moving to get away from the shu, and no harm, its their choice, and its their choice to be in both, if they like to but i do not see why anyone is in one or the other if they do not like the organisation. there are a lot of good fanciers in both snfc and snrpc but they are content with both governing bodies, and good members but how can u be a good member of an organisation if u are always downing it but good luck to all for 2007,
