buster151 Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 I dont think you can beat Aldis or Lidl for tools especially with 3 year guarantee, I have lots from them even shavers and hair clippers
peter pandy Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 My Bosch drill battery ceased to hold a charge of more than a few moments work to-day and a replacement battery is £30 so it will be a visit to Aldi this week. Thanks for bringing it to Basic's members attention Lindsay.
kingziemckay Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 its pretty easy to bring old batteries back to life, done it a few times, try zapping them, saves buying a new pack
VMS Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 Sorry guys pure crap from a trade perceptive, might be alright for hanging pictures etc but not much more

peter pandy Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 peter if you keep your drill and batteries outside that is the reason they wont hold a charge the winter f..ckes them upI did not have a problem with them being outside for years and it was only when drilling through concrete this past week the battery went defunct.
kingziemckay Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 Could you please enlighten me how you "ZAP" a battery without it exploding or are you Guy Fawkes in disguise ??. open up the battery pack if it has screws to check if there is any leaking cells,if there is it wont work,,its bin!!!if all looks good, say the battery is 18volt,get 2 car batterys, and link them up,so you get 24voltuse 2 bits of thick single core cable, and crocodile clip on the negitive to the drill battery, and touchthe +positive 10 time with short bursts,it recycles the cells and brings them back upto hold a charge, and no it doesnt blow up,,,just touch it dont hold the + positive on,done it before and it works, its worth a try before you replace them,
buster151 Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 You can also replace some of the dead cells, plenty how to videos on you tube
greenlands Posted October 19, 2014 Author Report Posted October 19, 2014 Sorry guys pure crap from a trade perceptive, might be alright for hanging pictures etc but not much more Totally agree but for twenty quid what do you want, how many pigeon fanciers use it 24/7.it does the job, mine's never failed yet, best money I've spent on a drill in years.
